In order to clean my two red and ivory colored rugs, I used my at-home carpet shampoo machine. In order to remove as much water as possible from the carpets, I repeatedly went over them. As soon as they dried, I put the rugs under the shade in the garage with the doors open. Since I had to clean up after an incontinent dog, I was in no real risk. I like the rug very much. The design is very nice and the product is well made. In part, due to the way in which the rug was packed for shipping, we reduced our rating. had been rolled in such a way that it had a curve rather than being straight like a rug should be. Although the rug has been in our home for months rather than days or weeks, the wrinkles/creases still show up in the rug caused by the shipping process. Several "tricks" have been tried to get the rug to lay smooth (reverse rolling, etc. ) yet it has not succeeded. This rug is extremely beautiful and if you do not mind one being packaged improperly then you're welcome to order it. You may have another problem on your hands if you do not take action. A March 25, 2019 update has been published. There's still a rug in our front hall where we used to have it. Although wrinkles are still evident, they are not as noticeable as they once were. After more than three years, the rug still has not flattened out and is noticeably wavy after all. You'd be better off investing in a rug you like locally that you're unlikely to encounter problems with like we have.
The 8' 11" X 12' I ordered was exactly what I wanted. During the folding process, the rug was rolled up from the side to the center, which left it with some pretty serious wrinkles especially in the folds. I used my floor steam cleaner to steam out the wrinkles by flipping the rug upside down and steaming it until it was smooth. The results were spectacular, but it took us a long time to complete it. In the absence of my steam cleaner, the wrinkles would have been too much to bear.
