They are meant to be used for shadow boxes for 2 pets I recently lost. The reason I bought them was that they were deep, so a toy would not be pressed against the glass. I then made them into shadow boxes. Weathered wood creates a nice texture on the box. In order to prevent them from falling off the wall, they are equipped with hanging hardware. This purchase has made me very happy!.
