I do not think it will fit in a 6-inch envelope. This is "5". In order to keep the 4x6" pictures securely inside the pocket, it is designed to fit them perfectly.
In short, yes. The slots are clear, so if you don't put two photos in each, you can see the backside of the photo.

In order to keep my sons' Boy Scout patches organized, I purchased these product pictures for them to add to the binders. A superb job was done by both of them. There is a thick spot on them, but not too much. Due to the openings being on one side of the page, I inserted two pictures at a time, one on each side. All of them will fit in a standard three ring binder that you can purchase from any local retailer. As far as captions go, I did not add any, but it would be easy to do since openings are the same as If I do that, I will create a template in PSE, print the images multiple times on a sheet of paper, and then My photos need to be off the computer and into hard copies soon, so I plan on buying more of these photo holders!.
It's the same as the ones I found at the store, but much cheaper. There were so many of them that I needed to buy.

In the middle of the work done on our house, we discovered that there was a sink hole underneath. So, I ordered these to bind up 125 photos taken during that work. During the years to come, these could be used to store those photos.
As compared to other sleeves I've purchased, these are two to three times thicker. There is no way to know whether that is a good or a bad thing. It is only a matter of time before we know. A similar problem can occur on sleeves that have raised edges around the photos. This can distract from the image as compared to sleeves that do not have raised In order to avoid empty pages in your album, it is ideal to have a combination of photo pages with space for 4 or 6 photos as it provides versatility based on the number of photos you have. I'd buy them again in the future.
