Questions & Answers
Yes, Hannah, the pillow will assist you in avoiding a flat head.
I've washed it several times with no problems; it's a little fluffy at first, but it pats back down quickly.
It will, in fact, assist. It keeps the head from sinking into the ground.
It's a large, firm pillow that provides a lot of support. About 3". My grandson's head had a severe point on top and was very flat in one spot. His neck was perfectly cradled at the base and hugged the sides of his head, with the backside opened to allow it to round out naturally. For him, this was a complete miracle!

My regular pillow hurts my ear, so I ordered this one. This is the ideal thickness for placing on top of my pillow without causing discomfort to my neck. It's incredibly gentle! To keep it attached to the proper part of my pillow, I added Velcro.
Our one-month-old was diagnosed with early flat head by the pediatrician, so we purchased this right away. After only two weeks, I'm already working!.
It's a nice pillow, but I'd only use it if I was with someone else. Advantages: br>br>
- The pillow is extremely soft, and it is the perfect size for my two-month-old daughter.
- br>Easy to cleanbr>- Should aid in the prevention of flat headbr>br>Consbr>- It is impossible to breathe in this environment. I tried holding it up to my face, but I couldn't get much air through it. I would only recommend using it under supervision. We use it as a play gym or a crib when we're watching the baby during the day. It's not a good idea to nap unsupervised or for an extended period of time.
- It's a little thin/unsupportive because, despite being super soft, it squishes easily and appears thin. I'm not sure if this will help with flat head problems, but it might help prevent them from developing.
UPDATE: The last pillow I got rid of thinking his head would be ok after jt was fixed and it got back flat when he was 2 1/2 months and now it's flat and rotating him doesn't help so I bought another pillow and will be adding how it helps his head. br>Saw quick results so stopped using it brought it maybe a week ago and his head is no longer flat i was using it because one baby head became funny shaped and i noticed that over use can cause the head to do different.
Now I take it with me wherever we go. My daughter has not yet learned to crawl and dislikes tummy time, so she has spent a lot of time on her back, and her head was flattening on one side, but this pillow, along with her father's and my behavior changes, is already assisting her head in returning to its normal shape. I strongly advise anyone whose baby is flattening or who wants to prevent it from happening to them to try this.
Wow! My son was born with congenital torticollis, which caused him to be unable to turn his head in one direction, resulting in a flat spot on his forehead. His physical therapist recommended that he be fitted with a helmet. We looked into other options because we didn't want to do it right away. We came across this pillow at that time! Within a week, his head began to revert to its original form!.
I use it to relieve the pain in my ears from sleeping on them. As a result, it doesn't quite fit (the hole could be a little bigger, and the "pillow" part could be a little wider and thicker), but it's a nice alternative to regular pillows and very soft.
Laying on either side of his head for an extended period of time can cause his head to become even more misshapen, necessitating the use of a helmet. So I bought this pillow in the hopes of it assisting him in maintaining the proper position of his head, and it appears to work and he enjoys it. I took a star away from this pillow because it feels cheap and the inside stuffing isn't all in one piece - I'm hoping it doesn't separate at some point in the future. This isn't something I'd want to put in the washing machine. It would be nice if the cover could be washed as well. I'll have to wash by hand if the baby spits up or vomits.
