These are cute little bookends

These were purchased for our eldest daughter to keep her chapter books in. They're stiff to expand (I have to do it because the kids can't) and actually feel pretty sturdy when mostly filled with books. I considered deducting a star because they were difficult to expand and contract, but I realized that the stiffness would reduce the amount of time they were played with (which is a good thing). There are also dividers that keep the books upright even when they aren't completely filled. Our children adored the bright colors and decorations, and we appreciate how neatly their books are now stored. This fits on top of a small bookcase without tipping over (even if the books are a little battered), and it holds about 20 smaller chapter books like Princess Ponies. Overall, the children enjoyed the gift, and we were pleased with the outcome.

It does its job and is cute at the same time

The shelf is colorful and cute. It looks great in my daughter's room. The shelf is sturdy enough to hold books, but it is flimsy when moved due to its flexible design. With small children, this can be difficult. We put it somewhere where she'll have some extra room if she pulls it a little too hard.
