This fountain is lovely, but it isn't built properly. The lights and multiple streams are beautiful, but the aggregate of those streams, combined with the pool at the bottom, means that no matter what setting the pump is on, the fountain splashes the surface it is on, eventually pushing all of the water out. We'll keep it because it's so pretty, even if we'll only use it outside. This vendor's other fountains work perfectly well with no spillage, so hopefully they can use what they've learned to improve this one.
The only problem is that if you like a dark bedroom at night, you can't have this in it because it's too bright and lights up the entire room, which is why it's now in the livingroom. I just wish it had an on/off switch for the lights, but I guess we can't have it all. But seriously, I love it!.
Love it! The opening from the bottom well to the back of the unit, where the pump is, is the only thing I don't like about it. I filled each of the wells with pebbles and larger rocks to dress it up a bit and muffle the sound of running water. Pebbles found their way into the exit hole for the water returning to the pump. They're a little difficult to get out of, and I couldn't fit as many pebbles into the bottom well without them falling in. By installing a small barrier grate myself, I was able to solve the problem. It would be ideal if that feature was included by default. Aside from that, great. I even threw in a few small birds for good measure. Love it!.
The sound of a fountain has been criticized by some reviewers. It'll make a "running water" sound because it's a fountain with trickling water and flashing lights. What else would you expect?br>br>Anyway, she adores it and has had no problems or complaints thus far.
There is some spillover, but it's not a flood! It makes a pleasant noise, which is exactly what I was looking for. The pump has been running for three months. The lights in the waterfall itself cast a lovely glow, almost like a nightlight in the room where it's installed. Friends and family have all raved about it.
This fountain is beautiful, and with the water running and the lights turned on, it is very meditative and even sweet! However, it splashes out (water) at a rapid rate, and given the expected natural evaporation, this thing requires constant rehydration. And- The splashing has effectively ruined a section of the table I was using. To protect my table, I had to get a sham (car drying rag) and place it under the fountain. And, yes- I've experimented with pump speed on several occasions. Aka- The spillage isn't helped much by slowing down the pump. This company appears to have a lot of negative reviews on the internet. than- This element has made me happy. Again, it appears to be excellent. But it makes me feel like a wizard just to keep it running the way I want it to. So, to some extent, working on something I bought to help me relax has defeated that goal.
The pump is quiet but powerful, with a nice design. I have the pump set to the middle of the speed range, which is ideal for me. The sound of running water is soothing, but it is loud enough to be heard in my bedroom. I sleep about 9 feet away and can't hear the pump from that distance (though I can hear it from 3 feet away if I listen carefully). I have a hard time sleeping, but this has made a significant difference. When I get home from work, I can't wait to turn on the fountain and unwind. This is one of those things I wish I had purchased many years ago. It's a bit pricey, but it's well worth it. Apart from the price (which, to be fair, appears to be comparable to other fountains), I only have two minor gripes: The lack of an on/off switch, as well as the fact that only one level has a light. However, none of these flaws detract from my enjoyment of this fountain. I only had it for two days, so I can't speak to its durability, but it left a strong impression on me, and I'm confident it will last a long time. In a few months, I'll make an effort to update the review. br>br>I have two photos and one video attached. While they all show the fountain in a dark room with the light on, one video and one photo were taken with the flash on so that you can see the entire fountain (the vertical video is intentional due to the shape of the fountain, but I am not a fan of vertical video). The other photograph was taken without the use of a flash and depicts what would be seen in a dark room. I would have uploaded the video without the flash, but Amazon does not allow us to upload two videos at once.
It will spill all over the place where it is stationed, even with rocks and the pump set to the slowest setting. It's also a shame because I would have loved to keep it and display it, but I'm returning it because of this. Furthermore, there is no off switch or plug on the unit. Every time you want to turn it off, you have to unplug it, which I believe is poor design.
