The tubing is too short to thread through all of the holes and barely long enough to submerge the motor. Solar and light wiring, on the other hand, is extremely long! Because I don't have a deck or patio, I wanted my fountain to be in the 4 season room, and it started up right away. It was love at first sight, but in this small room, the loud trickling sound became annoying after a while. Fortunately, I had large aquarium rocks that I placed in the bowls to minimize the drop, which helped tame the trickling sound and made it more tranquil. Outside of the bowls, there is a small splash/spray. Overall, it's a fantastic piece.
The power button would not release once I pressed it in. When I contacted them, I was told that my only option was to disassemble the fountain and return it in its entirety, which would have been inconvenient. I would have preferred to just swap out the panel. I finally got the button to stay on (energizing the pump) all of the time, so hopefully it will stay on and I'll be able to turn it off by simply unplugging the cords from the solar panel. br>Unfortunately, I broke one of the small bowls when I dropped it into the large bowl. I put it back together with glue. I was concerned that the bowls, which are light and thin, would be knocked over by the wind, but it was I who did it. br>To me, there are three things that could be better: The solar panel's power button (which appears to be a problem with others as well), the bowls are too light/easy to break, and there is nothing to stop the pump when the water level drops too low, which occurs frequently due to the shallowness of the bottom bowl. The insides of the bowls could use a seal to make cleaning easier; mine quickly turned white due to mineral buildup. They do appear to be quite nice. br> I'm a big fan of the overall look - I give it a five-star rating for that portion. The birds adore the flowing bowls, which I surrounded with flowering plants.
It's a lovely little fountain, but it only pumps water for a few minutes at a time before indicating that it needs to be charged. It has a charging port, but no wiring to connect it to the rest of the device. I'm not sure if I'm missing something or if I'm just plain stupid, but I can't seem to get it to stay on.
When our fountain arrived, we were overjoyed because we had hoped for one that would run in the evening. For a few months, everything was fine, but then the solar panel stopped charging for no apparent reason. We double-checked the connections to ensure that no animals had chewed the wires and that they were properly connected, but this did not solve the problem. We can't return it because it happened a few days after the warranty period expired. For the time being, solar fountains are off the table.
In addition, I didn't want to increase my electricity bill. This fountain is extremely effective. It doesn't appear to store energy, so it only works when the sun shines directly on the solar panel, which I don't mind. Ours was enhanced by the addition of some lovely river rocks.
It'll be ideal for my poolside patio. It looks fantastic now that I added some greenery. It's well worth the money because it's solar and I don't have to worry about finding an outlet.
It's still a lovely water feature, and cleaning the pump if it gets clogged is simple.
The fountain is even more stunning in person than it appears in the photos. My fountain took less than five minutes to put together (and I'm not much of an 'assembler')br>It stores energy and continues to function even after it has been exposed to direct sunlight. The long cords from the solar panel to the fountain were a pleasant surprise in my purchase.
