No, it gets pretty humid here in the tropics, and so far, everything has been fine for over a year.
It's more than 20 inches wide at its widest point, so it doesn't have full mobility, but the arms aren't always fully extended, so it can still move.
Selected User Reviews For Viking Ships 5 Hanging Mobile - 26 Inches - Teak - Handmade in Denmark by Flensted
We bought this mobile for our son's nursery, which has a light viking ship theme. The mobile has a sophisticated but slightly whimsical appearance, which is exactly what we were looking for. This isn't your typical "toy store" mobile; it's a high-end piece with superb craftsmanship. br>br>Because the ships are small, I wouldn't hang them too far away from where they'll be seen. It's also quite delicate, so keep it out of children's reach!.
Excellent quality of work. Materials of excellent quality. Real wood is used to construct the ships. Sails are not flimsy and are made of durable materials. It's entertaining for Cat to watch it move around. It reminds me of ships sailing on ocean currents, but these are ships that sail on wind currents. It's a soothing sight to see.
I bought this for my son's nursery almost three years ago, and it's absolutely stunning. I planned to hang it in the kitchen window once he outgrew it, but kids grow up fast, and despite having it hung fairly high above his bed, he still managed to pull it down, and that was the end of that.
I've previously purchased Flensted mobiles for my children's nurseries and have been delighted with each one. They are excellent quality and lovely works of art, and I strongly advise you to buy them.
br>br>Teak and paper make up the viking mobile. I read about how the Flensted mobiles are made in Denmark online, and I think it's pretty cool that each piece of the mobile is collected from the paper cutters who work from home once every 13 days to save on gas. Because I am of Norwegian descent and our home is decorated in a Scandinavian style with a lot of teak, this was a perfect fit. br>br>I adore the serenity, balance, and motion of this mobile, which gracefully dances across the wall, casting beautiful shadows. While watching it, I can almost see large ships cutting through the water invisibly. I'm ecstatic to be the proud owner of my very own Flensted. My husband had some reservations about the price at first, but I believe he has warmed up to it now. It's not just a piece of paper; it's a work of art in motion! br>br>The other reviewer chose the incorrect item to review. I'll admit that I'd like to have more Flensted phones in the future. This purchase has made me extremely happy!.
These are insanely awesome. Because they're so light, they practically float on their own. No, you still need to hang them up to counter the natural forces of gravity, but I just used a pushpin into the ceiling and that was enough for me. Because it's delicate, make sure it's not in the way when you pick up your child. But don't get one; I'd rather be the only one who has one.
This product is fantastic; it's well-made and floats gently in the breeze - I love it! calming and lovely – kudos to the person who came up with the idea.
I'm in love with this Viking mobile because it's so beautiful and has so many wood accents. Since then, I've purchased a variety of flensted mobiles, and my breakfast room has become a destination for visitors who want to see the ceiling where all of the mobiles float.
