This board is one of my favorites, and I used it to make a menu board with kraft paper tags, clothespins, and a chalk marker. I love the color and the way it looks. However, I only gave it two stars because of the poor quality. Mine was dented, and the edges were rough and clearly not sanded well. The box had damage on the corners, but nowhere near enough to cause this dent in shipping, so I'm guessing it was dented before it was sent out. I didn't bother with a return because I was able to hide it well enough, but the poor quality is aggravating. I would return it and order a nicer version if this were something I needed for a long time, but since I only need it for a year or two (until we move), and it was reasonably priced, it will suffice. If you don't like wood tones peeking through the grey, this might not be the right choice for you.
I intended to take better pictures, but I was in a hurry to get back. The board is made of MDF and has been painted. The level of quality was depressingly low. The frame on the first one I bought was dented and scratched. It was taken out and replaced. In the second, a circle piece was cut out of the middle of the board and casually reinserted as if it were done on purpose. The frame would be pierced if you pushed it out. If you absolutely must have it, I can confirm that it is magnetic and that this was not a problem. But don't make a purchase.
To help me with my shopping, I bought my first one. I took off the back hanging hardware, added heavy duty command strips, and hung it on my kitchen cabinet. When I run out of something while cooking, I can quickly add it to the list. br>I ended up purchasing a second one to keep track of non-perishable items. Items from the grocery store (paper products, cleaning supplies, and so on). It was affixed to the cabinet door next to it. This way, you can have a side-by-side comparison. I can take a picture of them with my phone on the other hand. No more forgotten shopping lists or misplaced shopping lists. br>I'm getting a third one as a to-do list. This will be placed at the bottom of the cabinets as a to-do list. br>br>The only drawback is that both times I bought grey wash. The voice has a distinct tone to it. The second doesn't appear to be grey at all. But, alas, it is what it is. it works.
I intended to use it to keep track of menus and grocery list items, among other things. . . . The grandkids, on the other hand, came over last weekend and had a great time with it. The board was easy to clean after the kids left, and it looks just like it did before they used it!.
It's well-made, and the aged/vintage finish is very appealing. I wanted to designate a space in our house as our communication center. I hung it above a drysink and use it to keep track of weekly appointments, school reminders, dinner menus, and so on. I love how it turned out, and the azteca chalk markers (also from Amazon) work great on it!.
I bought it to use as a cheese menu board, and I bought some liquid chalk markers, which the board handles fine (in the sense that it isn't limited to regular chalk).
Because it's porous, chalk markers work great and are easy to remove!.
After our letterboard fell and shattered the frame, I decided to buy this chalkboard on a whim. I adore this chalkboard; the quality is excellent, and I can't wait to change it out for different seasons and holidays. *chalk not includedbr>* For the bold colors, I used regular sidewalk chalk that I dipped in water.
