Yes, it is sufficiently thick. About 1/2 inch in diameter. Because it's a tight cork, pushing the pins in takes some effort.
My husband had to make some changes to the item's specifications. It kept tumbling down from the ceiling. What it came with is a mystery to me. Sorry!

The cork is probably less than an eighth of an inch deep, which is cute.
I bought this to add a tropical touch to my craft room, and I love it. It's almost like having a picture, but it's a corkboard. I haven't hung it up yet, but I'm sure it'll be fine because it's so much more than I expected it to be.
This corkboard is absolutely adorable. trendy. My 14-year-old has it in her room with photos and mementos, but she has left some of the design area visible because she adores it! It's a bit pricey, but it's a good investment.
It was exactly what I was expecting for the price, and it was very cute - Because the cork is thin and cheap, large pins/tacks leave holes and don't go very far. Also arrived damaged, with a smashed corner and paint chips - But it's not too bad if you cover it with white out and hang it up.
My duvet's color scheme is reflected in the leaves. I am very pleased with the size and appearance of the corkboard.
This is something I'm glad I bought. I've gotten a lot of positive feedback on it, and I'm pleased that it turned out exactly as I had hoped.
