There is no magnetic material on the chalkboard.
Chalk does not work with regular chalk! It is not possible to see any prints on chalk due to the finish used. In addition, what you have written is embedded into the board and won't completely disappear when you erase it. As such, the chalkboard feature is of no use. I am shocked that this item is so expensive, because it looks great but doesn't work. In order to see if it helps, I am planning on buying some chalkboard paint. Disappointed to the extreme.
Hey, our quality department does test to see if the chalkboard works with each incoming shipment to ensure there are no issues. They haven't noticed any problems with the new shipment.
Not a single piece of chalk is included.

Good looking, came with a few minor imperfections, but I repaired them rather than going through the trouble of returning them. Before using, I seasoned the board so that images did not remain on it, but there was a very slight line showing through. It is perfect for my use to have a magnetic note area.
Four stars because real chalk does not show up nearly as well as Investing in slate even if it costs more would be nice. I thought it was a bit chincy.
The board is just as shown in the picture. It was purchased to be used in a flipped home. This is the perfect touch for any.
