Yes, it is possible for it to be exposed to direct sunlight. It's my clock, and it's in good working order.
Outside, on a patio wall, I hung it. The clock and thermometer dials have failed to function properly after only three months. I would not recommend this clock if you are looking for an outdoor clock.
It's done well so far. I haven't had the opportunity to use it yet this summer. I know what you mean; I've misplaced a few timepieces myself.
I wouldn't put it in direct sunlight, but I live in Florida. Our SECOND one, on the other hand, just died after about a month of use. It was in the shade, and it was outside in a screened room. , but it was never soaked. I attempted to contact Seller but did not receive a response. br>I have no intention of replacing it.

It worked for a month and a half before losing time; we'd reset it, and it would work for a few weeks before losing time again; we'd reset it, and it would work for a few weeks before losing time again. We need to replace the clock because it is less than three months old. The arms do not move, but the motor is running, so it must be the gears. I didn't realize I was covered until the end of January; otherwise, I would have requested a replacement. I'm going to go out and buy another one in the hopes that it was just a fluke. It'd be perfect if it kept time.
Before shipping, this company needs to do a better job of inspecting the products. br>Do not make a purchase! I'd like to add to this review that we believe this is a poor product. In addition, the company's customer service is poor. If you want a clock that will last more than a few months, do not purchase this clock.
After about a month, the first one failed, so I exchanged it for a new one. After about three and a half months, the second one also failed. It's too late to return it because the window has closed. I had a Sears outdoor clock that lasted for about 5 years, so I know I should be able to hang a waterproof clock outside. This one, however, is different.
I bought this clock for my husband's office because we both like the way it looks and were excited to put it up. We've had it for almost a week and tried three different batteries, but it always seems to "hang" around 1: I understand that shipping can be damaging to delicate items, but it appeared to be in perfect condition; it just won't keep time. I'm very disappointed.
Basically, it doesn't work for the purpose for which it was created. Several sets of batteries were changed. There has been no progress. It will only work if you lie flat on the table. br>I propose to the supplier that this be called a "table clock. ".
This is not the case. Here in Florida, we've had a long period of dry weather, with only a few days of rain. It's difficult to read the clock because it's dripping wet. Last week was the last day of the return window. This purchase has made me very unhappy. I strongly discourage you from doing so.
I thought there was a problem with the clock when I first put the battery in. I hadn't realized how accustomed I'd become to battery-operated clocks' constant click click. There is NO NOISE from this one at all. Another 'anomaly' is that the second hand glides across the face rather than jumping. 'I suppose that's why it's referred to as retro. ' It reminds me of the electric clocks I used to have in my house when I was younger. The thermometer has both centigrade and Fahrenheit readings, and the numbers are large and easy to read. It appeals to me.
This clock looks and functions beautifully outside near our pool. My only reason for not giving it five stars is that a few days after receiving it and hanging it outside, we noticed the second hand kept getting stuck on the hour hand, causing the time to be off. My husband simply opened the back of the timepiece and bent the second hand a little to straighten it. For the past month, it has been working flawlessly.
