I see no reason why it couldn't be used on hard wood. If you dig the corner of the pan into the floor, it may scratch, but you wouldn't be properly using the item, so your floors are safe unless you have a child who would be throwing it around or sitting on it and scooting.
The handle measures 6 inches long.
The throat of the pan is 9 inches wide, but the Amazon page shows it as 14 inches wide. The depth of the pan is 8", not 9", as the website incorrectly states.
The width of mine is 9 inches.

I thought I'd enjoy this combination, but as soon as I picked it up, I realized it would be a chore. The brush handle is securely attached to the dust pan handle, and the only way to get it out is to pull on a rubber hang loop on the back or to pull the brush forward, grabbing around the bristles. It also won't come out because it's caught in the dust pan's notch. I simply do not believe the hang loop will withstand repeated use. The bristles in the brush were also starting to splay after a couple of trial removals. You could move the brush forward a little to reveal the handle, but this defeats the purpose of the loop. This may look nice, but I don't think it will last; all they had to do was extend the handle an inch or two to make it easier to grip the brush, but they chose form over function and cost savings.
br>You know how most seem flimsy and chip, and then you have to try to work around the chip in the pan to get all the particles up? br>I am confident that this one will not chip in the same way, and it will make an excellent seal.
When storing the broom in the dustpan, you must exercise caution. If you don't get the brush in straight, the bristles will stick straight out and you won't be able to put them back in order. What you now have is a brush that protrudes in every direction, making sweeping difficult. This is something I never expected to be a problem, but here we are. My previous dustpan and brush had a 20-year life span. After two months, this one was discarded. At first glance, it appears to be a good idea; I like that there are teeth to comb the dirt out, but the cheap plastic bristles are poorly designed. I'm not going to buy it again.
Bloom is a fantastic application. The only flaw in this set is that the dustpan does not lay flat on the floor. I'm referring to the yellow silicone edge, which should be level and flush with the floor. I'm not sure if it happened during shipping or if it was defective from the beginning. It looked great, so I cleaned around the cat litter box as soon as I unpacked it, only to discover that the silicone has a slight curve that allows a lot of cat litter particles to pass through. I hated myself for not inspecting the item thoroughly before using it so that I wouldn't miss out on the opportunity to return. I tried to straighten it out with heat, but it didn't work, so I tossed it. The bloom's design is comfortable to hold and makes cleaning the corners a breeze. I kept the bloom and purchased a dust pan from a different store, but the two won't snap together like the original, defeating the purpose of compact storage. When it's in tip-top shape, I'm sure it's a fantastic set. From the many positive reviews, I can tell it's a good product.
I assumed it would press against the floor, allowing the pile of dirt to be swept into the pan with ease. Not so. Because a lot of the dirt gets under the pan, I have to sweep it in several times and then use a damp paper towel to get what's left. I'm going to go out and get a new dustpan and brush set.
It's great for getting rid of those pesky little bugs that appear around this time of year without having to kill them on the spot and then look for a broom. It's also great for crumbs because it doesn't leave any behind.
This dustpan set stands out from the crowd thanks to two design features. First, the brush's triangular head, which effectively manages corners with the help of soft but sturdy bristles; Second, the comb is effective for cat littler. The brush is effectively cleaned of debris, including hair, that inevitably gets stuck to it, thanks to teeth on the pan itself. The non-sticky, rubbery texture A bonus point is awarded for the brush handle's slip texture. When you combine all of these factors with the fact that the form was not dictated by function, and you have a clear winner. br>br>Get rid of your other brushes, as well as the dust they failed to collect, and replace them with this.
My old, drab dustpan and brush set had finally given up the ghost, and I wanted to replace it without spending too much money. I've been struggling to stay motivated around the house, and I've discovered that investing in aesthetically pleasing tools makes things more enjoyable. I think my house could use a makeover in general, but for now, this will suffice. This looks nice and appears to be quite durable while performing its function.
