Questions & Answers

What is the best way to know if you're going to get a fake or real one?

False ones have been sent to me. When I had my money refunded, I saw the seller changed and I ordered again, receiving the genuine item. As long as the seller doesn't seem suspicious, I think everything should work out.

These look like they would be a true scum bug brand. I am going to order these. Where is the evidence that they are counterfeit if some reviews say so?

With this exact picture, I placed my order. What shows up does not match what is supposed to show up. The paper tops on the bags must be removed. It's just sponges that aren't the right kind. These bags begin to turn orange in about two days and are made of a different material from the one I purchased

You use these to scrub the pool, right?

The material is not for scrubbing but to enter the skimmer and soak up body oils and suntan product residues, to keep them from building up on the liner and I am very pleased with the

In order to remove the black "scum" from scumbugs, what should you do?

By spraying it with my garden hose, I get rid of it. My policy is to throw away clogged ones and start over with a new one if the problem is severe. Dish soap is excellent at cutting grease, so you might be able to wash them with it.

The real deal! In the past, I have purchased Scumbugs that have been excellent
3/5

I'm not sure what you're talking about. A Chinese knockoff of this magnitude is clearly fake. You can probably see from the photo that it is made of a completely different material. In contrast to the fake Schumbug, the authentic Schumbug is made of a much denser Due to China's long shipping time, the lack of prime shipping on this item makes it a bargain. It will take from 2 weeks to 2 months to arrive. Moreover, when I went to return it it has to be approved by the Chinese seller, so I have no idea if I can return this garbage at all. You should go somewhere else if you're searching for Scumbug.

Hot tubs must have this! I'm an idiot, as you may already know
5/5

As a result of recommendations on spa forums all over the Internet, I have been using the Scum Bug system for a few years now. In the last 3 months, I moved, had to sell my spa, and then bought a new spa for my new house. My hot tub is in use, and I often have family or friends with me to use it. It can be hard to keep Yes, I understand In contrast, non-chlorine shock and actual chlorine granules can only do so much. A few days later, I remembered that I had left my Scum Bugs at my old house for the new owner, who would never know that I used them and trusted I bought a four pack on here, threw one in my bathtub. The next day, I squeezed it out and it was already slimy and scummy. Crystal clear water is now visible in the lake. These are the coolest things ever!.

There is no need for more than one sponge
5/5

The pack came in handy after i found a strange grease slick in my pool and bought it thinking I'd need more than one to clean it. wrong one sponge is surprisingly effective. As soon as I rinsed it out, I was able to use it again, even if the pool had so much oil in it. The little white sponge is a good fit for my water chemistry and does not compromise it in any way. It is critical to make sure you are not purchasing a counterfeit product, as many reviewers had suggested. Maybe I'll give everything else to my friends. I hope you found this review helpful. Thank you for taking the time to read it.

I don't know
3/5

As far as I can tell, these are the authentic product, the foam is dense and looks like the one shown in the picture. Nevertheless, I am not entirely sure if it is effective. For the past couple weeks I've had it in our hot tub with no real difference in scumbugs, though maybe it became slightly slicker as time went on. So then I rinsed it out again, put it in, and some scumbugs appeared. Since my hot tub is new, I cannot say that it is improving anything since it was already pretty clean to begin I have actually noticed that my water quality has actually diminished since I started using this (become very cloudy), however I doubt this is the case with the sponge itself. Trying to determine the right chemical balance still takes a lot of time. At this time, I am unable to comment on whether they are improving.

Putting a fake knock on the door Let's go! Don't take chances! It has become a fake knockoff of the original product There is something off about it that is not There is no benefit to your spa from it
3/5

The items you receive are four thin pieces of foam shoved in a bag that are not at all like those pictured or the brand shown.

You have my full attention
5/5

Despite my skepticism, I was pleasantly surprised with the reviews. Since I've had a problem with hot tub scum, I threw this stuff in and wiped the sides down. It was delightful to discover no floating scum or nasty foam when I ran the jets the next day. There's still no sign of dirt after several weeks! Nothing on the sides of the tub, not even scum or foam. Even though I have no idea how it works, I'm sure it works! Purchasing it is a good idea!.

The surface of the water gets clogged with algae, dirt, insects, debris, and oils
5/5

With a "sock" liner added to it, I use it in the pool basket to catch pretty much everything! Turning on the pool pump is part of my annual pool maintenance routine and I do it when I brush down the pool sides and with the bugs. The large filter does not collect as much dirt as the socks, so I don't have to clean it so frequently. When there are insects in the pool, like water skippers, I find that they bite me more than other bugs If they end up in the basket, the water bugs will be tangled up, which is a nice way to get Our pool pump is always running when we swim so that the oils are pulled into the basket and removed A part of my foot is trapped in my These scumbugs deserve to be punished. Having rinsed them with a powerful spray, you should now be ready to paint A combination of algae and cyanobacteria Dirt comes off it (I don't squeeze the scumbugs! 2) I have tried rinsing it with baking soda when it has acquired/collected sunscreen/lotion It seems to clean it off, however I haven't used them for more than a few weeks and haven't been swimming much, so I will come back to this review in a few months to see how the scumbugs changed.

A high level of expectation
4/5

My pool just went in today, it took a long time to arrive. The bugs arrived about five hours ago, and I've yet to notice any change or see anything on the bug itself but I was ecstatic to receive them and am optimistic that they will be helpful for keeping One of the four I purchased would be enough to last me through the swim season, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that one will last me that long! It is noted that I can give my extras to family members.
