Questions & Answers

Is it possible to use it to make a mattress out of it?

I'm not sure what you're talking about when you say "form mattress." If you mean a foam mattress or a single mattress/box spring, it will fit if the dimensions are correct. You won't have to worry about bugs in foam, but it will keep spills and sweat off of it.

I'm curious as to what kind of material this is. ?

All six sides of the SureGuard Box Spring Encasement are made of the following materials: br>Surface - If you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words stretch waterproof backing - knit polyesterbr>knit polyesterbr>knit polyesterbr>knit polyesterbr TPU (polyurethane) is made up of 100% TPU.

Has it been put to the test to see how effective it is against bed bugs?

The packaging states 100% Waterproof, Bed Bug Proof, and so on and so on and so on and so on and Before making a statement like this, it's usually put to the test. Otherwise, the company would suffer significant financial losses as a result of false advertising. So I'm pretty sure they put it to the test.

I've been reading the reviews that are listed below. How can one reviewer claim that the cover is completely waterproof while another claims that it has leaked?

I haven't had any problems with the mattress cover leaking, but I haven't had any reason to.

I bought this item in May with the expectation that everything would be fine
3/5

As of 5 p. m. on Sunday, July 24th, When my wife awoke to find Bed bugs biting her at 3 a. m. , all hell broke loose. She flipped over the mattress, which had a Mattress Encasement, and then the Box Springs, both of which had SureGuard covers installed by a professional exterminator in late May. We were able to see where the Bed Bugs entered and exited the Box Spring covers. They were able to breach the covers after only 60 days. Needless to say, the Box springs had to be removed from the premises. What kind of testing, if any, is done on these cases? Because of the infestation and health risks associated with shipping such material through the US Mail, I am unable to return the product. I believe I am due a complete refund.

The bedbugs have been quarantined within the building
5/5

Read my review if you're still dealing with them. At first, I believed the bed bugs had finally died. They went dormant for the winter and came back three months later. Poisoning them didn't help because they are most likely the apex predators of urban life. The only thing they couldn't adapt to was diatomaceous earth in the end. This is purely mechanical and non-psychological in nature. toxic. They were trapped inside after filling the encasement with diatomaceous earth; bedbugs can survive for up to 18 months without food. With just one particle, it can kill any insect. Everything from a mouse to a computer is safe. br>I'm not planning on opening them for at least four years. To be safe, the rest of the house was powdered once more. Clothing has been washed and dried in its entirety. Heavy blankets that didn't fit in the washing machine were dried on high for 30 minutes.

THIS IS TO BE PURCHASED - IF BEDBUGS ARE WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR! I don't do reviews very often
3/5

If I had the opportunity, I would give this product a negative five-star rating. As soon as we saw a single bed bug, we hired an exterminator to treat our home. We got lucky, he said. We caught it early, so we didn't have to deal with it for long. a full-scale invasion On his advice, we treated our house and purchased these bed covers. We thought we'd taken care of the issue. A few months later, things have changed. On the bed, there is a bug. When we dismantle everything, we discover that bugs are escaping the closure! The exterminator had to return for a second treatment. br> This entire ordeal has been a nightmare, one that could have ended after our first treatment if these devices did what they claim to do- BED BUGS SHOULD BE KEEPED IN CONTAMINATED BOXSPRINGS. They don't have any! Buy at your own risk. br>br> You have been forewarned of this danger.

Not resistant to bed bugs
3/5

I took extra precautions by rewashing all sheets in hot water and spraying bed bug killer on them before putting them on. Despite this, I was infected with bed bugs in a matter of months. If you want to get rid of bed bugs, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

It protects, but first do your bed bug research
5/5

I'm pleased with my purchase. The only thing I have to say about the people who leave reviews is that they are rude. The fact that you purchased an encasement does not mean that your bed bug problem has been solved. br>br>To get rid of bed bugs, make sure you vacuum, spray (contact killer), and dust (diatomaceous earth) EVERY CORNER, CRACK, and SPACE of your bed, box spring, and home. Your bed bug problem does not go away just because you buy an encasement. br>It's the equivalent of shooting yourself in the foot and covering the wound with a bandage. No, that isn't how it works. br>br>While this encasement will help prevent future bed bugs from using your bed/box spring as a new home, you must also put in the time to ensure that these little suckers do not return. br>br>Everything else was fine; just be careful when pulling the zipper because it can get stuck at times. However, everything has gone well thus far.

Because of the velcro, the zipper closure isn't completely secure
4/5

Ok. Let's get this party started. For the past three years, I've been sleeping on the same boxspring encasement. I got bed bugs for no apparent reason, thanks to rough handling, a cat who thought my boxspring was her personal scratcher, which I taped extensively, and general wear and tear. It came out of nowhere. br>I chose this encasement because it had unique zipper closures and was far ahead of the competition in terms of customer reviews. Here are my disadvantages: br>br> The "special" velcro closure on top of the zipper is largely ineffective. If they can burrow through a zipper, this extra flap won't encase the entire zipper, and they can also burrow through loop and hook, such as velcro. I've had four treatments, with everything pulled out and treated each time. This thing is useless unless you do at least that. br>br>Be cautious, gentle, and aware that this is a long and painful process. br>br>If it weren't for the zipper issue, I'd give it five stars.

MY WASHING MACHINE HAS BEEN PERMANENTLY DAMAGED
3/5

This item is advertised as being machine washable. When I washed mine, however, it nearly destroyed my washing machine, despite the fact that I followed the washing instructions to the letter. Using cool water and a gentle cycle is recommended. However, while the washer was spinning, the cover became entangled and absorbed so much water that it caused my washer to become off balance to the point where it literally fell apart: the tension rod holding the tub came loose, and several screws fell out, causing the top and bottom parts of the washing machine to separate. It was a disaster, and it cost me $126 to have it repaired. According to the repairman, a water-related problem existed. In the newer machines that spin so fast, the proof cover should never be washed; I believe the manufacturer should have warned about this on the packaging. I'd never buy another Safeguard water-proofing product again. br> Encasement of the box spring must be proof. If I had the option, I would give it a zero-star rating.
