There is plastic. As you make the bed in the tent, keep in mind that it is quite difficult to get it out each day. Other than that, they're so cute!

The space should be measured before a purchase is made. For now it is on the floor since it wouldn't fit in my daughter's bed, which has a headboard and footboard. I plan to shorten the poles on the sides to accommodate it, but the bed is not big enough.

The tent was purchased in November as a Christmas gift for my sister, and has only been used twice. I have been waiting for that long. Little by little, the chandelier lights have been burning out. Because the chandelier was purchased so recently, it is out of my hands to replace it. It is very disappointing for my granddaughter, as I am for her! Other than that, I love the tent! I did have to trim down the part of the fabric that goes under the mattress carefully, but it works fine. The plastic poles didn't serve me well. Since we don't rate those, I can only say that the fabric is fantastic, it's much nicer than what I have seen at the local stores and also better than what came with our bed. The light is also simply stunning. The light is just bright enough for my six-year old daughter to keep her night lights on when she sleeps. This canopy does not contain an automatic timer. Reviewing tents is usually not part of my routine, but I feel I have to for this one. Purchasing this tent for my daughter for her birthday was my gift to her. It's been nearly two hours since I've been working on it. I broke two poles when I attempted to connect all the cables together, toward the end of the project. While I was trying to salvage the poles I ripped the netting as I went to wrap it around the poles. BUY THIS TENT AT YOUR OWN RISK. The whole thing was a waste of money.
As soon as the light in the center of the poles was combined, they I can't imagine how long this would survive and last, which is incredibly disappointing.
Nice canopy, but nothing to do with it. They love the canopy, but one of the chandeliers wouldn't work when we got it because a wire had been stripped from the switch box, and another had burnt out after just a couple weeks of It's not advisable to buy the chandelier expecting to use it. This is the second time I purchased these items, so I'm double bummed.
