This pillow is a favorite of my son's and he finds it very comfortable.
All I can say is that I did it. I bought the 16 x 16 to fit a 16 x 16 cover, and it worked out perfectly. The 18 x 18 would probably fit inside if you wanted it hard and filled like a ballon.
16" x 16" and 18" x 18" pillowcases should use 18" x 18" inserts.
Why not? This pillow insert is very soft and supportive, and I enjoy sleeping with it.

I used to travel a lot, and one of my go-to outfits was a pair of slacks. Memory foam is the best travel pillow. I was so taken with it that I decided to purchase a memory foam version for my throw pillow inserts. And it did not let me down! The Aeromax Memory Foam throw pillow insert 18x18 is ideal for those chilly nights when all you want to do is curl up on the couch. Unlike ordinary polyester-based fabrics, this one is made of cotton. The AeroMax will keep its shape and curve indefinitely when filled with a throw pillow insert. It will return to its original shape no matter how you use it, sit on it, or throw it in your husband's face. I'm not going to use any more flat pillows. I used the same size throw pillow cover for the 18x18 Aeromax as well. I've included a side-by-side comparison of a regular polyester-polyester blend and a special polyester-polyester blend. The Aeromax Memory Foam pillow insert (right) and the filled pillow insert (left). Look at how firm it is while still being fluffy! These make my family very happy. Nobody wants to get their hands on the ordinary polyester-based fabric. stuffed pillow is no longer available. I realize it isn't the cheapest, but it is well worth the money. And, yes, I would strongly advise you to do so.
We took measurements after the inserts had fully inflated after shipping (48 hours)- The sizes did not correspond to what was described. The "20x20" pillow cover was the perfect size for an 18x18 pillow. I'm still looking for a memory foam insert that measures 20x20 inches.
I did notice that the sizing differed from other reviews, but I couldn't find any other memory foam pillows in that size, so I purchased them regardless. They're so comfy that I'd buy three more for my couch if this company made a 20x20 cushion.
I perfectly filled the existing pillowcase according to the specifications. When it plumped up, it had a comfortable give but a firmness to it. So I went out and bought a second pillow. The second pillow was about the same size as the first, but it wasn't quite as plump. It's not as firm as it once was, and it also appears to be a little smaller overall. As a result, the similar pillowcase does not fill out in the same way. It could have been a fluke case, and it's understandable that these things have slight variations, but the second pillow was of lower quality than the first, to the point where I wondered if they were made by the same company when I received it.
They didn't work not only in terms of color scheme, but also in terms of comfort. My husband goes to work in the middle of the night and then spends a lot of time on the couch when he gets home. Our top priority is your comfort. I liked that I could choose the pillow cases because these were the only memory foam throw pillows I could find on Amazon. The mix is exactly what I was hoping for - incredibly cozy – I was able to locate soft, reasonably priced covers that matched our color scheme. Because, while comfort comes first, aesthetics isn't far behind.
The description page was a little confusing because I couldn't tell if this was solid memory foam or shredded memory foam, so I bought the 20 x 20 inch Aeromax memory foam throw pillow insert. This throw pillow insert is made of solid memory foam, which I am happy to report. and it's exactly what I was looking for. If I had any advice for the company, I would tell them to: 1) Provide a dark cotton cover for the pillows as an option; 2) Please provide additional sizes (12 x 12 inch and 14 x 14 inch); 3) On your description page, please include the surface length of one side of the pillow. I let my Aeromax memory foam pillow insert expand and breathe for two days before inserting it into a crochet pillow cover I made. I'm quite pleased with the outcome. However, I used a dark forest green yarn for my crochet project, and I wish the pillow was available in a dark color (such as dark grey), as the white cotton cover shows through the stitches of my crocheted pillow cover. Aside from that, I'm quite pleased with the outcome.
It's ideal because it provides good back support when you lean on it. If you want to sleep on it, it is soft to the touch as well as to your head and neck. It even includes a washable zippered case! Because of this extra layer of protection, if something gets through your pillow cover, it won't stain your actual pillow. OMG. I'm not going to buy another pillow brand. These pillows are likely to gradually replace all of my other pillows, and I wouldn't be surprised if they last decades. I bought three 16 x 16s, which are actually 16 x 16s, not 15 x 15. I would purchase a pillow that is the same size as your current one, not larger.
The quality of the product surprised me. Excellent lumbar support with no of the odors associated with foam pillows, mattresses, and other similar products.
