I was not expecting these to be so good. This was the large size (26x26) that will fit 24" square fabrics. I love how well they fit. I want to avoid becoming mushy, but at the same time, I don't want to be wishy washy. As I was going to get a higher-rated insert, I found that they did not have the size I need, so I opted to get This was not what I expected at all, but I am blown away. The pillow is definitely plump, so it fills out the cover well, but it still has some give and softness, so it feels like a fluffy sleeping bed pillow instead of a throw pillow, if that makes any These pillows would be perfect for napping on the couch, as the other pillows pictured on my couch are way too overstuffed and hard to work with. I like how the filling popped up well, but is still somewhat squishy, which is what I had in mind. There is a loud and annoying noise! While it states that the cover is cotton, it does not feel like cotton and there is a loud crinkling noise when you touch it. You can hear it even though the pillow cover is covering it. This is the same sound produced when a plastic mattress cover is closed. I find it very irritating. It will be returned to you. If the cover was normal cotton, the pillow would be awesome as a squishy down alternative.
A note about the size I got an 18 x 18 pillow to fit an 18 x 18 cover, and it perfectly fit. My goal was for the head to be a little squishy but not too stuffed. I fit it nicely in the cover without having to leave any extra space. If you want it to be firm and overfilled, you'd need to go one size up.
