First and foremost, please accept my apologies for the poor quality of my bed making abilities in the photo. br> So, for my queen size bed, I got a California king blanket because my husband and I enjoy playing tug of war with our blankets all night. So I reasoned that if I went all out, we'd be able to put a stop to it. The sheet was treated in the same way. I'm not crazy about how my bed looks with the extra long covers dangling down, but it's worth it because it saves me a lot of time and aggravation. I thought a 15lb blanket would be too light, so I went with the 20, but now I'm wondering if I should have gone with the 15. This is my first weighted blanket, and while it makes me feel like lead when I turn over in the middle of the night, I am undeniably sleeping better than I was before. The beads tend to collect in lumps, which I don't like, but it doesn't affect my sleep quality or make me feel uncomfortable; it's just an aesthetic issue that will be resolved once I put on the duvet cover.
I bought three of these for my nieces as Christmas gifts, and they were a big hit. They appreciated the fact that they could choose their favorite colors instead of gray or black, which is usually the only option. According to the girls (ages 17,16,13), they are warm and comfortable. I only gave it three stars because the pockets were very loose and the glass beads all fell to the side, causing an uneven weight distribution. My nieces don't mind, but if you're buying for someone with special needs who requires even weight distribution for sleep or anxiety, I recommend a different brand. I have a different brand for my son with Autism that has perfect bead pockets, but it doesn't come in adult sizes. Overall 3/5 Dependent on the user and their needs, this is a good blanket!.
My "40 lb" weighted blanket arrived today, and it was exactly 36 lbs. What a waste of time. Quality control does not appear to be a top priority for TONGDADA. Just keep in mind that you're likely to lose a few pounds regardless of the weight of the blanket you're buying. The "glass beads" are more like loose sand moving freely around in each sewn 6" x 6" square when held up to the light, which is particularly sad. It isn't held in place by anything. There appears to be nothing to prevent loose grit from spilling into an adjacent pocket if the thread connecting the two sections breaks over time. br>br>When I think a product is exceptional, I'm the first to gush about it. At best, it's mediocrity and misrepresentation in the case of my TONGDADA 40 Weighted Blanket.
If you order a King, keep in mind that you should order a lighter weight. Even though I enjoy heavy blankets, this one is too much for me. It's so heavy that I can't even pick it up. I use it for naps, but when it's folded over, I can't even move my feet.
I was expecting a weighted blanket to feel confining or constricting, but I was pleasantly surprised. The weight is evenly distributed, so it feels like you're sleeping under a heavy blanket (king size 80x90, 15lbs, for example). It's a favorite hangout spot for my cats as well. So far, it's been holding up well. The color is dark and rich (the forest green I got). It works fine for two people to share, but if you have two people sharing a king size bed, I'd recommend upgrading to the 90x108 20lb to ensure full bed coverage.
Perfect size and weight, but when they suggested buying a cover, they didn't suggest one that fit the generous size and had enough attachment points for the size and weight! Everything else on my bed is encased and/or covered, which makes me frustrated. So far, I've bought two covers that haven't worked! Sad.
Finding a weighted blanket that fits a king size bed is difficult, but finding someone who makes a heavier blanket is impossible. So, if you're looking for a 30 pound king size blanket, you've come to the right place. Having it during the February 2021 blizzard was a godsend.
The material is extremely scratchy. Material that is inexpensive. The money spent was not well spent. The beads started to come out after one gentle wash cycle. You will not be sorry for your purchase. I have a number of weighted blankets. This is by far the most costly error I've ever made with one. Don't let the lovely color fool you.
