They were never an issue for me. I literally had to leap into my dorm bed after using these to raise it high enough to fit drawers underneath. Never once did I doubt my decision. I now use them to cover my sewing table (on which I crawl). This is an excellent product.
A heavy plastic with a smooth surface. They're efficient, and they get the job done.

THIS IS NOT A GOOD ITEM TO BUY. We've only had it for a few months, and at 5 a. m. this morning, while my husband, I, and our 10-month-old were all sleeping in bed, our bed went straight through the post. Fortunately, no one was hurt, and this was an excellent product because we live in a small apartment and need to save space.
UPDATE: I have yet to hear from the company, and it appears that I will not be getting a refund or a change. I purchased a new set from a different company, and they have performed flawlessly since then. br>I wore these beauties the other day and fell in love with them. My room is the right height and look, but this morning as I was getting ready for church, I set on the end of my bed, only to feel it fall through the block. I'm only 196 years old, and I have no idea what's going on. I'd appreciate a refund or a replacement. My dachshund requires a higher bed so that he can protect his back when chasing his toys.
The bed risers were delivered on January 7, 2017, and one of them has broken as of today, February 14, 2017. I wasn't even doing anything strenuous; I was just sitting at the end of the bed, putting my socks on. Although the description claims a lifetime guarantee, my Amazon account indicates that the return window ended on February 7. Purchase something of a higher caliber.
My dog benefited greatly from these raisers. Her front feet are paralyzed, and putting weight on them causes her pain. I needed to raise her water and food bowls quite a bit, and these were ideal. She can now finish her entire bowl of food without stopping to rest a couple of times. These are strong and durable, and I would use them as a bed as well. The inner space on top is enclosed by a wall, ensuring that the bed does not slide off the top of the riser and can support a fairly large bed leg. This is what we call her banqueting table, and there's a foam cushion under the risers for added comfort.
If you like the height, you won't be disappointed with these. These were purchased to go with a new adjustable platform that I recently purchased for a bed. The box spring was thrown out. The bed is a sleigh bed, and the mattress was too low to make the bed without the box spring, i. e. Because the mattress's bottom was below the sleigh bed's side rail, tucking in sheets was nearly impossible. As a result, risers were required to elevate the mattress's bottom above the side rail. Because the mattress is so deep, the bed with these risers is far too high. A height of 3" or 4" would be ideal for me. Another annoyance is that the adjustable platform has six legs, so I had to purchase two sets of four.
I bought these bed risers because my heartburn is so bad that it keeps me awake at night. My doctor advised that I raise my bed's head. I couldn't think of a way to do it without it collapsing. I bought a set of bed risers, placed them under the head of the bed, and haven't had any issues since. They're nice and sturdy, with a rim around the top to keep the bed's wheels from falling off.
We had bought a four-piece set from a local store in anticipation of the arrival of our new bed frame, only to discover that we needed a total of seven because the bed frame had a center cross piece. The store's inventory had run out. I frantically searched the internet and discovered these on Amazon, and I was overjoyed when they arrived. Size, color, and design are all identical. We stuffed them under the bed and discovered that we now had a FOOT of storage. The totes in the large size will work. br>br>I emptied my closet of out-of-season clothes, craft supplies, and other miscellaneous items, and my husband now has room in the closet as well as empty totes for under the bed. br>br>Congratulations! br>br>.
It's been said that doing it this way is much healthier. The table's casters are perfectly positioned in the top cavity, ensuring that the desk is stable. I had no idea this item was available at my local Target, and it's only $10. Target has it for 95 dollars, but Amazon has it for $18, which is way overpriced. But now that I've gotten them, it's too late to return.
