The'shelf' stayed put for a long time at my house despite spending a lot of time finding the surface that it adhered to. The program was put up about a month ago, and I haven't been having any issues with it coming off. It is plastic on the shelf, which is a bit disappointing, although the metal comes with an exceptional style. This item is highly recommendable, especially if you consider the price. On other websites I found similar items (or more expensive) that were the same price, made of plastic, cheap looking, and did not allow you to change the rubber part if it becomes greasy.
