After reading mostly positive reviews, I was very disappointed. br>br>Summary: br>br> Even when not in use, this mirror consumes four new Duracell batteries every seven days or so, and it loses its "brightness" after about four days. The "mirrors" are two cheap stickers on plastic that, despite the fact that it came with a cloth, do not remove smudges. Do not even consider using Windex on it! (I tried it, and the cheap plastic was ruined. ) br>br>Don't throw your money away. I'm returning mine on day 30 because we drilled holes in the wall and needed it to work, but 12 batteries later, there's no consistent brightness and smudges that can't be removed.
It does what it says on the tin and is well-made. FYI: You can put it up or down, depending on how you want it to look. I put it up with the mirror facing down, and it looks great.
Mounting was simple, except that the size of the nuts used to secure the mirror to the mounting plate seemed to differ in size, with one nut tightening securely to the mounting rods and the other not. I went with the one that fit snugly on the top rod and appears to keep the fixture in place. On the mounting plate, I also added a third anchor bolt. br>br>I've only had the mirror for a short time, so I can't say how long the batteries last, but I use it every day.
Both the mirror and the lighting are of good quality. It's on my wife's wooden dressing table, which I installed. Steel screws and plastic wall anchors were among the hardware used on the walls. The hardware was something I had to purchase. Then I noticed the mirror arm wasn't level as I was placing it on the metal plate, so I had to caulk it. I had to buy new ones of these as well because the top bolts that hold the unit to the plate were not deep enough when I installed them. Overall, it's a good mirror, but I wouldn't recommend it if you don't know how to use tools or navigate a hardware store.
This mirror appeals to me. The brightness or whiteness of the light would be the only thing I would change. A warmer light source is preferred by me. Regardless, the light bulb is operational, and I can see myself in the mirror clearly. br>br>I read reviews for a dozen different products and found that the majority of them complained about the batteries dying too quickly, but I haven't had that problem with this one. I do, however, use rechargeable batteries, so if that is a concern, I would recommend investing in those.
The reflection in the mirror is shaky. When you turn on the light, you must wait a few minutes for the mirror to become still enough for you to see what you're doing. The mirror is also quite small, so the lighted circle is almost directly in front of my eyes rather than shining light on my face. However, it appears to be in good condition, and I only use it for magnification rather than lighting to apply makeup. I'm sorry, but I don't think this product is worth your money.
I didn't get it for free, as some other buyers claimed. and it's a waste of time! br>The studs are too long for the connectors, causing it to be wobbly because it won't tighten. It is also difficult to move the mirror around. It's probably a good idea to get some WD40 to help move it around.
I was excited to use this mirrow, but the light does not function. Even when installed, it isn't very sturdy. It's total nonsense. Make sure you don't throw your money away. This mirror is not worth the money it costs.
