I like the amount of Selenium in these supplements because most Selenium supplements have mega doses that I don't want. br>br>However, Swanson has a photo of the ingredient list on Amazon, which only lists gelatin and rice flour as fillers, despite the fact that Dicalcium Phosphate is also present. Lying about fillers is simply unethical. br>br>Here are some general notes on Selenium that I came across: br>br>Selenium deficiency is common in areas with low selenium levels in the soil, such as parts of China. Pain and muscle weakness can result from a deficiency. I had to request a refund because the product contains dicalcium phosphate, which is potentially harmful to the GI tract and is certainly not good for me. The only ingredients listed on the product label provided on the website are "rice flour, gelatin. " When you get the bottle, you'll see "dicalcium phosphate" listed as well. Clearly deceptive marketing! If they're going to remove some of the ingredients, I'm not sure why they bother to show the label. Someone had to change the label's image so that it only read the two harmless ingredients and not the third objectionable ingredient, which is listed as potentially problematic on many websites. Mercury is said to be present in tuna in particular. I don't know about absorbency because I don't have a way to test it, but selenium is supposed to bind to mercury. Take it out of your system. That's reason enough for me to take selenium if I'm going to be eating fish in particular.
I'm not sure if this helps with thyroid problems, and I'm not getting any better. At the very least, unlike the Pure Encapsulations selenium product, this one does not give me cramps or nausea. Pure Encapsulations capsules also smelled a lot worse than Swanson's, and I ordered this product specifically for the 100 mcg capsules rather than the 200 mcg.
Another supplement about which it is difficult to write. Due to a gallstone attack that landed me in the hospital, this is the best form of selenium to take, so I've added it to my supplement arsenal. I declined to be removed from the situation. Now I'm consulting with a Naturopathic Doctor and doing some research. Despite the fact that my selenium levels were normal, I chose to take one capsule per day to detox. Supports liver function, which is critical for gallbladder health.
The label is not the same as the one shown in the photo. It appears to be okay, but I'm not sure how to determine whether or not a vitamin is beneficial. If that says anything, it smells bad. The label isn't what it appears to be, and I'm aware that many people have complained about fillers.
Thanks.
These were appealing to me because they were simple to consume. They also have a reasonable dosage size (some supplements have an excessively high dosage per capsule;) Swanson selenium, on the other hand, has a dosage that is ideal for my requirements.
