In other words, if you take the EPA and the DHA together, you won't get the EPA's benefits. This was the only DHA without EPA that I could find, and it's made from algae, a great source of DHA. After taking the DHA, I take an EPA supplement several hours later.

I bought it because I'm a vegan who needs an omega-3 supplement. Despite the fact that I am not pregnant, this was the best option I could find.

a lack of quality control I, too, discovered that some of the capsules were stuck together, just like Holly. The coating was not intact after they were separated, and they reeked horribly. Even though I wasn't pregnant, I ordered these because I'm a fan of Dr. Perlmutter and Garden of Life and was looking for a vegan option. They appeared to be practical. I'm unable to comment on the overall benefits of this product because it is not something from which one can expect immediate health benefits. In any case, I only took half of the bottle and returned the other half for a refund because I had lost faith in the product's quality.

These are large pills with no taste. I've had vegan DHA vitamins that tasted/smelled fishy, so I appreciate how neutral these are.

I didn't notice it the first day, but the second day I noticed a strong fish odor and assumed it was due to my morning sickness. When I tried to swallow the pill, it squirted open, which was a nightmare. It was a horrible experience, especially for someone like me who has severe morning sickness. When I looked in the bottle, I noticed that many of them had become stuck together and that there was a lot of residue. I'm not sure what happened, but this bottle was subjected to quality control. Let's see how this new bottle turns out, hoping for a replacement.

EPA Ratio in the Absence of Carrageenan This DHA supplement is one of my favorites. For starters, it lacks carrageenan, which is found in the majority of DHA supplements. The second benefit is that this supplement has a high DHA to EPA ratio, which is ideal because too much EPA can prevent DHA from being absorbed.
