Questions & Answers

The third ingredient is hydrogenated vegetable oil. What the hell are you talking about? This is the leading source of trans fat in food, and it raises cholesterol levels?

I see a question here, but what is it? Consider the following if you're worried about hydrogenated vegetable oil: Niacin causes blood vessels in the skin to dilate, resulting in a flushed appearance; to counteract this, hydrogenated vegetable oil is added to help slow niacin absorption. These tablets do not contain enough hydrogenated vegetable oil to raise cholesterol levels.

Where does this niacin come from?

However, you should contact Main Pointe Pharmaceutical in Louisville, Kentucky to see if they subcontract manufacturing.

When does the license expire?

The two-pack I purchased in February of this year will expire in June of 2021.

What is the purpose of not displaying the ingredients?

I don't know why the ingredients weren't listed. This product, when combined with statins, helped me control my cholesterol, triglycerides, and LDL cholesterol. I've been taking it for the past 6 years and my cholesterol levels have remained normal.

I was able to reduce my cholesterol by taking a supplement called slo niacin
5/5

Despite doctors' claims that Slo Niacin does not lower cholesterol, I went six months without taking it between doctor visits, and my cholesterol rose 30 points! It takes a while for your body to adjust to it, and you may experience very hot/burning flashes, itches, and strange sensations. The side effects are less severe and unpleasant if you start with 500 mg for two weeks, then increase to 1,000 mg for two weeks, and so on until you find what works for you. The price difference between Niaspan (a prescription cholesterol-lowering drug that costs around $300 per month) and Slo Niacin (which costs around $20 per month depending on dosage) kept me out of the Social Security Drug Donut Hole!.

This Is Actually Effective! I've only seen a few supplements that have proof of effectiveness
5/5

My cholesterol levels were so out of whack that my doctor threatened to put me on medication. I began taking 1500 mg of this, and six months later, the doctor inquired as to what I was doing differently because my symptoms were normal. I ran out and stopped taking it for a month, with no changes to my diet, and my levels were all over the place once more. I started taking it again a year ago and have had no issues. My main gripe is that it's becoming increasingly difficult to find in local stores.

It's a good product, but it's way too expensive
3/5

Because the manufacturer raised the price, this product is no longer available at Costco. br>This is a vitamin, after all. Natural products are now available! It's purified and blended with wax to slow absorption and reduce side effects. Nothing about its creation necessitates such an exorbitant price!.

It consistently improves my HDL levels
5/5

My statin drug (Lipitor) keeps my LDL, triglycerides, and total cholesterol at very low levels, but it does nothing to raise my HDL count, which was previously well below the normal range. Since beginning to take the Slo- My HDL number always tests at about 130% of the "low normal" number when I take Niacin (500mg) daily. I was taking a daily dose of 2500mg for a while, but after reading about a clinical trial that showed large doses of niacin increased the risk of stroke, I reduced it to 500mg, which seems to be just as effective. I occasionally get the "niacin burn" after taking the Slo-Niacin. Niacin; I think it has something to do with food or drink, but I haven't been able to pinpoint the exact cause. In any case, the burn is usually over in about a half hour.

Flushes the entire body
5/5

Despite the fact that the label claims there is no flush formula, I've used these before and had a full-body flush. It's a one-of-a-kind experience for you, and you feel like you've been sunburned all over. It feels like you're suffering from severe heartburn at first, but then your cheeks turn red and your entire body becomes itchy. These symptoms, thankfully, do not last long and disappear quickly. These are something I take on occasion to help me control my cholesterol, and they work wonders.

For me, this is an excellent product
5/5

My cardiologist initially prescribed Niaspan, which cost $126 even with my AARP part D coverage. I found Slo Niacin after doing some research and showing my findings to my doctor, who said that as long as I didn't get a niacin glow, I could go ahead and take it. It has served me well for the past ten years. Oh, and did I mention it's about $113 less expensive than Niaspan?.

It's effective, but it's best to keep an eye on it
5/5

I've been taking this for years to help control my cholesterol, and at 2000 mg per day, it lowers my total cholesterol by 30 percent. Be aware that some people have a history of serious liver problems, so consult your doctor before starting and get a liver panel blood test done on a regular basis. When you first start, expect to flush, but this can be avoided by gradually increasing the dosage and drinking plenty of water.

Reduced cholesterol levels
5/5

I had high cholesterol and refused to take statins because I didn't want to. I took one every day for a month and then had my blood work checked. Although it has been reduced, it remains excessively high. It took two SLOs to complete this project. Six months of niacin a day until the next blood test; cholesterol is now within normal limits. I take a couple of NSAIDs every time I take one of these pills to keep taking it and avoid the flushing side effect.
