When the contacts are in, do not use them. Apply the drops before or after inserting or removing your contacts. They'll make your contacts foggy if you don't use them. Contact rewetting drops are available from Refresh. I keep them in my purse for use "during the day."
I'm not sure if what you're looking for is preservative-free, but if you search for "optive preservative free" on Amazon, you should find it. You'll be able to order the preservative-free optive product. Individual vials are included. I was also able to locate it at Walmart. Best of luck!

In a Refresh box, I received a generic bottle of eye drops with a ragged, broken seal. A generic bottle was used in place of the name brand bottle. The name brand cost me more than $12!!.
They suggested this product, and they haven't complained about the dryness since starting to use it. Other moisturizers may give you a pleasant feeling right away, but they won't solve your problem. I'm a very active person who doesn't notice minor annoyances, but I do want to protect my aging eyes.
I needed gentle, moisturizing eye drops after PRK eye surgery. I've tried a lot of them and read a lot of feedback. Nothing was particularly effective or lasted long enough to make a significant difference. My eyes were still dry and scratchy, and my vision had not improved after about 6 weeks. I had the same vision after PRK as I did after a week. My doctor explained that it was due to my dry eyes. My recovery is also hampered by the cold weather and the use of heat. Theratears drops, Refresh liguid gel, Genteal gel, Blinks, Similisan, Systane Balance, and Bausch Lomb Soothe Hydration have all been tried. Nothing seemed to work or last very long. Even though Genteal gel performed slightly better than the others, it did not last more than 30 minutes. 40 min. br>So, after much research and reading online about various eye drops and their ingredients, I discovered that I require glycerin-containing eye drops. Refresh Optive Advanced has 1% glycerin and 2 other lubricants in it, so it reduced tear evaporation, hydration, and lubrication for those of us with dry eye symptoms better than br>I adore these eye drops, especially when used in conjunction with GenTeal lubricant eye gel for severe dry eye (in the tube) or Systane Nighttime Lubricant Eye Ointment at night. br> If you have dry eyes, try these drops, especially if you've had eye surgery such as PRK or LASIK. They are, in my opinion, the best at moisturizing the eyes and soothing them without burning or irritating them like some others do, and they do not feel like a thick glue in the eyes. Refresh Optive eye drops (which I also have) are another good option for those with mild dry eyes. Refresh Optive and Refresh Optive Advanced are switched out on a regular basis. In a generic form, there is Refresh Optive.
Mechanical rubbing or external irritants/allergens can cause my eye(s) to become irritated and/or dry. This eyedrop soothes and moisturizes my eyes and lasts for a long time. I'm set for the day with just one drop in each eye. The drops take a few minutes to settle the eyes, but they work. Other than that, I'm not going to use anything else.
Over the course of time, I've tried a variety of eye drops. This one has a much better effect on my eyes than the others I've tried. This is something I'm going to use from now on.
Because I was unaware that the bottle contained preservatives, these did not work for my sensitive eyes, and they burned! So my doctor told me to buy the daily disposable one because it doesn't have preservatives. What a waste! My doctor should have made that clear from the start, but I guess it's not the products fault.
They are very effective in treating my dry eyes. When my eyes become scratchy, this product helps to refresh them. This brand was recommended by my optometrist and works quickly.
For any activity, it's simple to use and carry.
