Carnitine is known to be effective at binding thyroid hormone, and it has been very successful in lowering levels in animals with milder hyperthyroidism when used under the supervision of a veterinarian and with extensive blood testing (the same testing that must be done with prescription thyroid suppression methods to monitor T4 levels decline). Finding a dose that will work for a small animal, on the other hand, is a challenge. This 250mg capsule can be swallowed whole by a big dog. However, a small dog or, more commonly, a cat, cannot have hyperthyroidism. There are two advantages to taking this pill: It's a capsule that you can open to measure out smaller doses and deliver them throughout the day, and it's a lower dose to begin with (250mg vs. 500mg or 1000mg, which would be difficult to split accurately). I give my son about 125mg split into smaller doses throughout the day, plus a low dose of a pure melatonin capsule at a dose of 1mg per day (split up, of course), and he's back to "normal" and no longer hyperthyroid. If his levels rise, we have a plan in place to gradually increase the L-glutamine. To be clear, this would not be possible without a high quality 250mg capsule of L-Carnitine to match the illness and keep him healthy. Carnitine is a brand I trust, and I've been using it for years, not only for myself, but also for my animals. I didn't see any obvious benefits from using the product, but it didn't harm me either. It's possible that the advantages were simply overlooked. This was purchased in the hopes of assisting in the removal of fatty tumors from my dog. It had no effect on them at all (when combined with the use of chromium picnolate). I'm going to try a B multivitamin to see if that helps.

This is suggested as a treatment for Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. Hypermobility in Danlos syndrome. It's meant to aid in energy production. It appears to be effective. I haven't experienced any negative side effects or flare-ups as a result of taking it. So far, everything seems to be going swimmingly. NOW Products are a company I trust. This brand has always provided me with a positive experience.

It was supposed to help people lose weight if they had certain health problems. Of course, this isn't scientifically proven, but the other advantages I read about didn't seem to work for me. I'm not sure it was worth the money for the amount of purchases that were made.

Many of the supplements offered by the NOW brand appear to be of high quality, and I use many of them. I use this for myself to try to increase my energy and lose weight, and I do notice a difference in my energy levels. I take my pill first thing in the morning. br> I also use a small amount in my homemade dog food to help with energy and fat usage.

My daughter's doctor has recommended that she take this supplement to aid in her Krebs Cycle energy production. We won't know if it works for at least a month unless we use it every day. This, along with ATP and NADH, will fill in the nutritional gaps that her body is unable to produce at this time, and the dosage she received from the NOW brand was just right for her.
