Since my bottom is not really important, I don't really care which is silicone or water-based. Yet, I've heard from multiple tops that silicone is needed. The product is actually quite good, but with the recent price increase, you may as well buy the high-end stuff since it costs roughly A year ago, they were charging about $16 for 8 ounces. Now, they are charging $26.
