My lips are sensitive, and chapsticks, burt's bees, soft lips, and other similar products always dry them out. I only use Vasoline when I'm in the sun (on the water, at the beach, or just outside gardening for a long time), but I needed something else when I was out in the sun. I was forced to join my brother in the dime-a-dozen business many years ago. I saw a small box of these next to the sunscreen section in one of the dozen boardwalk shops. I tried it and loved the tropical scent. It didn't irritate my lips and provided adequate protection. Every year, just before summer, I buy some for my entire family to take to the beach.

I did some research on how to avoid cold sores with spf lip balm, and I've never had one since using these. They provide excellent broad spectrum protection and have a pleasant aroma.

This isn't for you if you don't care for petroleum-based products. It's not as greasy as Vaseline, but it's not as bad. They smell good, but I'm not a fan of "flavor" because I don't like licking my lips. It makes me so happy when my grandchildren visit. Outside on the farm, I'm working. We're going to need that lip balm.
