I assume it refers to the blades' perforated covering. Hair must pass through a hole before being cut by a blade hidden behind the foil. This, in my opinion, cuts smoother than the electric razors with those three circular thingamajigs on them that pinch the hairs. I hope this has been of assistance.
I had one for a long time, and whenever it did this, it usually required new batteries or cleaning. After three years, I'm going to buy another one. It works wonders for my kinky hair in the shower, and I'm an African American woman.

I'm not certain. My battery compartment is on the bottom and opens with a simple turn of the handle. There's no such thing as a "line" in this case.

When I first used this product, it not only barely shaved any hair, but it also hurt my skin. Even a week and a half later, I have a small gouge of skin removed from my armpit, and it is extremely painful, red, and swollen! I can't use deodorant because I have an open wound on my armpit, and when the skin sticks together due to the lack of deodorant, it rips whatever is healing open again. Do not purchase to save yourself the LITERAL pain.
It's cute, small, and reasonably priced. It arrived quickly, and I chose the lovely floral one. It comes with instructions, the unit itself, which has a loop for hanging it in the shower, and a cover for the metal parts (as seen in the picture). I put it to the test on my arm, and it works fine in the dry. It also states that it can be used in water, but that it should not be submerged. It runs on two AAA batteries (not included) and makes a similar amount of noise as an electric toothbrush. I'll post an update once I've tried it on my legs and in the shower to see how well it works.

It's a strong tool that gets the job done. To add to my recommendation, the design is super cute, and the unit is small enough to fit discreetly into her toiletry bag when she goes to sleepaway camp or overnights. If you're looking for a discreet shaver for yourself or a first-time razor for your pre-teen, this is the perfect compromise. This is the one, teen!.
I'm completely enamored with this! This thing is perfect if you're in a hurry or don't want to shave your armpits/the hair on your armpits is too short to shave. I wear tank tops to work every day, so I always make sure that my underarms are shaved, and this has saved me a lot of razor burn. It's great for your bikini line, legs, and arms, too! It's also very simple to clean, and I've used it on several planes! I'm so pleased with my purchase that I just bought one for a coworker!.
I tried it on my legs and it didn't shave as close as I'd like. To the touch, the legs are still extremely stubby. This item was purchased for a quick touch-up. While on vacation, there are a few things that you can do to improve your situation. I suppose it's fine, but not if my legs are touched.
