As for embroidery, I don't do it but I crochet and use several to do it. On top of that, I also use one pair for the pets so they are not near any pointy parts. There are several sets of 3, I'm happy with all, and none of them are used for nose hair trimming. I have ordered several sets of 3 and have been satisfied with all of them.
I think China is to blame. The quality of these products is not high.
I like mine because they are very sharp.

One of my fingers was cut by some unsmoothed or very sharp parts on the handle of the scissors. My finger has plenty of blood, so I am not going to post that picture because nobody wants to see blood and reviewers don't want to see blood on Amazon. Anyhow, this is not the best pair of scissors I find them to be a little too big for me (perhaps others would feel the same) and they don't always cut well. I have a good mix of anxiety and thrill every time I put it in my nose since it is relatively hard to close (compared to other good ones I have used before). In spite of that, I would prefer to use this pair than my standard scissors I have in my tool box due to their compact size. It's a case of getting what you pay for.
