A pair of AA batteries is required for the beard trimmer, and a single AA battery is required for the nose/ear trimmer.

A small amount of maintenance is necessary. If you wet and soap up the smaller ear and nose unit, it will work better. The tip should be rinsed with water to be cleaned. The nylon brush can be used to brush off hairs from the large beard trimmers. Remove the plastic guard and use it to clean that unit. Make sure the blades are oily once a month and run the trimmer for a few seconds.
The only use I make of this is in I'm very pleased with it. So I don't nick myself in the bottom, I usually apply a small amount of baby powder before.

The trimmer I have now has been with me for about 6 months. I must say, it is by far the worst trimmer I have ever owned. Actually, I'm on my way to getting a new one. Those trimmers pull the hair instead of cutting it, and the "bonus" trimmer is just poor quality. Update As with other reviews, I was told by Wahl customer service that they were sorry for the problems I had and requested I contact them so that they could earn back my business and to use this review as a reference. After contacting their customer service, I never heard back from them, so I'm assuming that their response to my review, as well as the other reviews, is simply This is a $10 trimmer, I shouldn't have trusted it. I mentioned before that you can get something better if you spend a little more.
I bought a beard and mustache trimmer with a rechargeable battery for my husband who is tired of having to get one every time. Despite our attempts, he always seemed unhappy with the job done by the clippers we bought from the store. The first thing I thought when I saw these was "okay, a Whal, so it must be good. ". As a backup plan, I was going to tell him he had to stick with rechargeable batteries if he didn't like it. The fact that he did not make any complaints makes me very happy. Thankfully, there is a pair of clippers that my husband will be happy to use instead of me searching the Internet for clippers that don't exist.

It's intermittently impossible to turn on or off due to the on/off switch. As a result, it runs better than when it was brand The first thing I did was to send an email to "Wahl" explaining the buildup of hair and to inform them that a design modification was required. A "generic" response directed me on how to clean and oil the clippers on a routine basis. A well-known brand that slipped down the drain and into obscurity at the hands of a great vortex of swirling and whirling.
There are two reasons why I took away a star. I bought a beard trimmer which had one piece that slid up and down to allow me to adjust the size of the cut. To accomplish the same goals, I found that much more useful than having several heads that I had to remove and reattach to accomplish what I could accomplish with just A second reason I removed a star was because I didn't like it. There is much more noise with this beard trimmer as opposed to the one I bought 3 years ago. It is even more difficult to trim near the ears. Even three years ago, I still liked the trimmers and I am still glad I bought them, but it seems that they aren't quite as good now as they were then. With the exception of those two pesky things, they are good cutters and work nicely.
With the sudden explosion of "manscaping" trimmer sets, the price has gone up. Even with shipping, it is cheaper than everything from Walmart and Target. It works fine with clean cuts and does not snag, but I do not use it that often. Here is the clip - My last kit also had the stand and I preferred it to the carrying case since the on guards attach firmly (in fact, are sometimes hard to pop off). As my nose/ear trimmer already stands alone, I had little need for a second one, but it is nonetheless a nice addition. I gave it only four stars because, truthfully, when talking about a personal trimmer, you really can't say you "love it", but I would recommend this to anyone looking for a reliable, basic machine.
Having owned this trimmer since 2013, I have literally never had a problem with it (and it still does not have a problem). It has been nearly a decade since I bought the unit, but its sole use as a T buzzer has never let me down, although I have lost nearly all of its accessories, except for the "III" attachment (which is not a true 3 guard FYI).
I am purchasing a new unit (different brand and a higher-quality. End) because I've come to a point where I want the attachments again and a better variety/more Initially, I thought the attachments were a bit, uhh, interesting when I purchased the device. A unique experience. My memory suggests that the guard for longer beard trimming can be adjusted, which seems odd and somewhat dangerous if you don't have it attached correctly. Specifically, this kit is great for someone who is just starting out because it includes everything needed for a great start. Honestly, there aren't many options to choose from. When you're looking for a t buzzer that can keep your neck and face clean or you like the look of stubble, however, this is not the one for you. I am very happy with it, especially given the price. In the case of a beard or stache that has grown out and you are looking for a way to trim down the bulk, I am not sure this kit is.
As far as a new trimmer is concerned, I was thinking of purchasing one from Wahl. Well, they do have a good commercial product line. Well, I guess that is where it ends. In comparison to the retail versions, the consumer versions just don't measure up. The math doesn't add up. *This thing was cheaply made, and there are jets that leave Boeing that make less noise. If I had retained the packaging, I would have sent it back and spent the extra money needed to purchase a commercial line or a different brand. I'll take it all if it's cheap This device barely allows me to stay intact while using it. I scare the living hell out of wildlife on Mountb Rainier when I use it. Be sure not to buy this disappointing beard trimmer*.
