Questions & Answers
Alum block dries quickly in most cases.br>It can be easily stored in its original packaging, plastic case, or other container.
I shave my head as well. I secure the end with a small rubber band so it doesn't fall out, and I rub the end against my head and face. It appears to cover the entire surface with ease. Just make sure you have a wet head and a wet block.
It appears that the weight information has been removed. I've had mine for a while, but it weighs 2,65 oz = 75 grams, according to my order history.
It prevents nicks and leaves no white residue, but it does leave alum on your face, which can be drying to the skin, so it should be rinsed off after use. I've found that a roll-on is the best stypic. It works well and does not leave a white mark on the surface.

After a week of use, this product will improve the appearance of your pores. I shave with a safety razor that is powered by electricity (i. e. , a single razor blade) and it's worked like a charm. I run hot water over my body and apply Aveda Composition Pure- formance Oil on the shaving area, shaving cream, shave, rinse with warm water, and get the block wet with warm water, rub it all over the face and both sides of the neck (wetting as needed), brush my teeth, and then rinse with ice cold water. Apply a light coat of L'Occitane Cade After-Shower Cream to complete the look. Shave Balm is a product that helps with shaving. This is a fantastic way to begin your day. With a shower, I usually split the shave and the alum block.
If you rub your fingers together before handling a metal razor handle, such as my Merkur Progress, it will have slip properties. Astringent properties are also very good. As a result, it will stop minor nicks and scratches from bleeding, but it will not stop a full-fledged wound from bleeding. On cut, a styptic is still required, but I believe this is well within the scope of the product, so it performs slightly better than expected in the alum vs. styptic comparison. I'd give it a 6 out of 5 rating if I could!.
If you're new to shaving with a safety razor or straight razor, you'll need an alum block to prevent the nicks you'll undoubtedly make on your face. Nothing soothes your freshly shaved skin like a wet alum block, even after you've progressed past the stage of cutting yourself. br>br>I've been using my Taylor of Old Bond Street Alum Block for a few months now, and it's a nice addition to my shaving routine. One block will last a long time, and it is highly recommended.
Alum block of the highest quality! The perfect way to finish off a classic shave. I've had it for three years and there's still a lot of it left!.
I'm very pleased with the product.
This is an excellent product; as a newcomer to wet shaving, I was unsure of the value of this small bar at first, but after the first shave, I was convinced. When applied, it stings a little, but it's more of a refreshing sensation than a pain. It effectively prevents irritation and bleeding from nicks caused by the shave. For anyone who uses a razor, this is a must-have item. It didn't dry out my skin or leave a lingering odor. I'd buy it again and tell everyone about it!.
Good but costly.
br>It's relaxing, but it does leave a lingering film. It still exists, even if it isn't visible. Suitable for minor cuts and nicks. br>br>UPDATE (4/2011): br>The block is still in my possession. I had to use this less frequently as I continued to wet shave. The edges of the block, however, have begun to crumble. It will, however, be useful for another two years, in my opinion.
