I'm not sure, but based on what I've read, as long as you have a water softener system, you should be fine. And, based on what I've read, the iron only adds red tones, so you should be fine with auburn. That said, I'd contact L'Oreal customer service; I did so years ago and received a prompt response.
Gray hair will turn a reddish brown color, while black hair will turn a dark brownish color. The colors will be two-toned. I hope this has been of assistance.
It is equally effective at covering my grays and browns. I have subtle shade differences, but nothing that stands out.

The color scheme is stunning.
It's not unpleasant to smell. If you're a long-time out-of-the-box user like me, but you're not happy with the new Clairol product, give this one a shot. To be fair, I did contact them, but all they did was send me a coupon for more of the same, along with a suggestion that I call them for advice.
For the first time, I used this and was blown away by the natural, lovely red it produced. The color is like a smoldering ember, and the bottle comb applicator made it so simple to apply to my long hair. It includes a pre-conditioner for the ends to prevent damage, as well as a post-conditioner to keep your hair looking great until you apply it again. Without a doubt, this is my favorite!.
This shade of red is one of my favorites! It's one of my husband's favorites, and he chose it for me. It's been over a year since I've used it. It's a great way to hide grey and it lasts for a long time!.
This is the most beautiful permanent hair color I've ever seen. It worked wonders for my hair, and I was very pleased with the results.
I've been a long-time fan of L'Oreal hair products, and they've never let me down, and Excellence is no exception. After years of wearing my hair in a "not found in nature" red, I decided to try a dye that would cover the brassy red of my faded Feria violet, complement my natural hair color, and hide the gray hair that had begun to appear. br>br>I was not disappointed; this color blends and covers beautifully, and the cream was a breeze to apply and much less drippy than other dyes in gel form. The pre- I was a little disappointed that there wasn't an additive to reduce the peroxide odor, but Feria is the only dye I've found that has it, so I'm not holding that against this dye. Also, while I intend to continue dying away the gray for a little longer, I'm no longer concerned about a significant difference between the dyed and natural colors once my roots begin to grow out. So, while I intend to continue dying away the gray for a little longer, if I'm not able to cover my roots as quickly as I'd like, I'm no longer concerned about a significant difference between the dyed and natural colors.
My natural hair color is dark brown, with a hint of red. I've attached a photo for you to look at. It's a lovely color that gets a lot of compliments, but it doesn't cover gray hairs and doesn't last very long.
It's low-cost, simple to apply, and it looks fantastic! It hides my gray and doesn't cause my hair to become brittle.
