I liked the hair right away after opening the package. The length was exactly as described, and the texture is that of an African American who has relaxed or straightened his hair. But it didn't take long for me to notice the drawbacks. First, despite the fact that the hair appears thick, the scalp is widely spaced. A small amount of hair was shed. Second, saturating the hair with water was extremely difficult. I attempted to wash my hair, but it took about 5 or 6 minutes for it to feel damp. (This leaved me wondering if 100% this is 100% human hair all 100% over 100% the Mannequin head. ) It's possible that it's a mixture of human and synthetic hair. )Then I noticed that a quarter-sized amount of shampoo didn't completely rinse out of my hair. I gave it another 8 or 9 minutes of rinsing. There were a few suds that wouldn't wash away. Finally, while blow drying my hair, I noticed white dots at the hair roots in several areas on the top and sides of my scalp. They were definitely lice nits, I'm pretty sure. After doing some research, I discovered that this can occur if hair isn't properly deloused. That's when I made the decision to give the mannequin back. I also had the opportunity to curl a section of my hair with my curlers set to 400 degrees during the return process, which went smoothly. The curls were nice at first, but they combed out quickly. If you receive a mannequin, please inspect it thoroughly. I'm not suggesting you don't buy it, but you should keep the box in case something goes wrong.
I brought her along so she could practice braiding on my hair. I didn't expect this mannequin to be of such high quality, and even the combs are heat resistant, which is difficult to come by. Fortunately, I was fortunate.
It will be well worth your time and effort. Perfect. Withstood flat ironing at 400 degrees. Lightening (w/20vol. ) was also avoided. ) with flat ironing as a follow-up. I'd buy it again without a doubt.
Because of all the negative reviews, I was dying to despise this mannequin head. It was the last thing I wanted to like. This was going to be a disaster, I knew it. But. It wasn't like that. br>br> br>br>This is a fantastic product for anyone who wants to learn, practice, or manipulate something. Wow. This was doomed from the start because of the price point. WRONG. br> br> br>br>The hair is extremely thick. THE THICKNESS OF THE THICKNESS OF THIS THICKNES When I first opened the box, the smell was unpleasant, but I was relieved to discover that it was lice-free (in 2005, I was given mannequins that were covered in dead nits). br>br>I trimmed the hair right away because it was so easy to comb and section. br>br>After practicing a color technique, I wanted to despise this. I was certain that the combination of color and shampoo would make me despised it. WRONG. br> br> br>br>Shampooing and conditioning were a breeze. I also did a thorough blowout for good measure, which was just as simple. I did use a leave-in conditioner, but it was just as easy to comb and section my hair before applying it. MINIMAL HAIR LOSS. br>br> br>br>I LOVE IT AND WILL BECOME A HAIRGINKO CUSTOMER AGAIN! br>br>KEEP UP THE EXCELLENT WORK. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. br>br>.
This appears to be a blend of human hair and some type of fiber rather than 100% human hair. There appears to be something stuck to some of the hair that neither water nor shampoo will remove (look up images of lice eggs on the internet).
I absolutely adore the texture of the hair and the fact that it can be parted freely, and I plan to buy another one very soon.
The package arrived earlier than expected. When parted, the hair was a bit thin, but it did the job.
I'm a current cosmetology student who bought this maniquin head and I'm really happy with it so far! When I shampooed her hair, it didn't shrink, matt, or knot up like the expensive ones sold at the school! I put her in the wig dryer for 30 minutes after roller-setting her. I didn't want to comb out my curls for 40 minutes while I worked on another one because they were so beautiful and defined! The texture appeals to me. I didn't have a lot of shedding like some of the other people who bought it said they did. I told everyone in my class, as well as the students in the new class, about her. I haven't ironed her hair yet, so I can't comment, but I'll let you know when I do. This was an excellent purchase, and I will most certainly make another for the following semester!.
