3 months was all it took! Be careful what you buy. This is something you should not purchase! When I first bought this item, it worked perfectly. After three months, the tooth brush only receives a partial charge, making brushing extremely difficult. Even though it has been charging all night, the beeping sound indicates that the charge is low. This item is not something I would recommend buying. I've had this particular tooth brush for over ten years and have never had any issues with the charger. I'm not sure what the issue is, but I'm going to buy directly from the manufacturer. I'm hoping it works out.

My toothbrush had been in my possession for a long time. Unfortunately, I misplaced my charger while traveling and was unable to locate one, so I purchased this product; please do not make the same mistake I did and disregard the reviews indicating that this charger base stopped working shortly after purchase. My toothbrush would no longer hold a charge after only one week of use. This product is not a replacement and will not work. Very let down. I hope this review helps someone else save money as well.
I have no way of knowing how long it will last because I just purchased it. br>However, I like how it looks and appears to be made. I left it at a hotel, just like my original, which didn't fail. br>The hotel did not return my calls; it is not the chain's fault; it is the location's fault.
The product isn't functional. After being on the charger all day, it adds about 30 seconds to its use time. Buying the generic is not a good idea. Just get the Phillips one and save yourself the trouble.
Right out of the box, this device didn't work properly. My toothcrush has been on the charger for almost two days and still hasn't been charged. A little more time would have been acceptable, but this is a phone that charged in under four hours after receiving the low battery/fast beep signaling that the toothbrush needed to be charged. I'm hoping that I won't have to pay Philips a hefty "brand name" fee.
At the base, the chargers collect dirt. The replacement base, thankfully, is easier to clean than the original. I'm pleased with the product and would gladly recommend it.
We needed a backup charger for our other house, and this one works perfectly. It's nice not to have to remember to pack another item in our luggage when we go back and forth.
