It doesn't dry out if it gets left out for an extended period of time. One of the only ways to strengthen fingers is by doing this.

Over the years, he's had a hard time writing by hand. To be honest, we had kind of given up on trying to improve his handwriting skills. He does OT and PT every week, and they mentioned that he liked this pen, so we bought some over a year ago. We bought the first set with all the colors, but he only plays with the black, so we've bought a pound of that black twice In the short run, it doesn't get odorous, but eventually it gets soft and mushy. Nevertheless, he plays with it at least two hours a day, depending on how much time he has to spare. It will make a huge difference in his handwriting if we don't bring it when we go camping. He missed it most when we weren't able to take it. The Fidget I chose for him didn't come with any expectations, and I just wanted to make him happy. The act of doing so is very therapeutic for me and even for others. The stuff I'm reading is awesome!.
