There is only a thermometer in this. A thermometer is not itself a device that measures temperature. The covers are designed for electronic thermometers, some of which are able to display the temperature in Fahrenheit or Celsius- Make sure the thermometer meets the specifications.

In order to get a more accurate measurement, I use this vertically with the probe cover instead of using ears or heads. Moreover, you get a smiley face guide that tells you when the weather is safe, fair, and dangerous.
