It is a must for folks who have low vision to use these bumps. Macular degeneration in my mom is advanced, so I got them for her. These are the ones I have used so far Besides her cordless telephone handsets and microwave with a 30-second cook cycle, she has few other household items to mention She has invisible buttons on all of her appliances, including her washing machine, dryer, and fridge. This is a great pair. I remember my 86-year-old mother having trouble seeing the hang up button on her phone before & My dear mother left her phone on all the time. I would have to reset them at least three to four times weekly when I drove over to see her. We have now eliminated the problem of being unable to find her, so I am no longer concerned. Pressing the bump dot when she wants to hang up the phone is no problem for her. She has been able to keep them on all four handsets without any slipping Since she uses only the 30 second button and the clear button on her microwave, presto, her microwave is back in action! A washer and a dryer are both the same. Her machine is pre-set to light load and warm, so she can use that as well. A second set is on the way as I know that I can use these for more than I thought. The use of these have made a big difference for us (and her), so I recommend them to anyone who is trying to help someone with limited vision.
With my grandmother's macular degeneration at the age of 89, I got this for her. To help her find the start button for her microwave or the on button for her remote, it's exactly what she needs. There are different "textures" to the dots, which I find appealing. Others are rounded, others flat, and there are a variety of sizes, colors, and shapes available. This would have been useful to me if I had found it Her vision had not been as bad then, so I used some craft store foam to help her identify her wash cycles by color. Before she went blind if I had found these, we might have been able to teach her to use them. The only issue is, she is in the hospital, so I have been unable to set it up with her I will use a hot glue gun if there is a sticking issue. The aesthetics aren't important at this point the most important aspect is the functionality and feeling of independence.
I bought these sticky bumps for him because his vision is not good, but his thumbs and fingers lack the feeling, as well. His remote phone now has bumps that let him feel where the on and off buttons are so that he can feel them whenever he is at home. Aside from this, I also appreciated the fact that there were so many different colors and sizes available. In order to keep him content, we started placing bumps in the right spots. negative thing about these is that they don't stick to everything. The mute button on the television remote control is difficult for him to see on his remote controlled. However, I was unable to get the sticky bump to stick to the mute button. Under it I even put a small dot of super glue, but it would not.
It's surprising that this was chosen as an Amazon's Choice because the bump dots are very different and very colorful, but they break easily and do not stick to smooth surfaces. Despite my best efforts, the apps did not work on my mother's portable phone or appliances. Her vision is low and she is 86 years old. If I make this purchase, I will buy it at a specialty store, because I feel rather jilted.
My RP and legal blindness make me a legal invalid. It was my first time ordering these, so I had no idea what I was getting. I am so happy to have found them! They are amazing and Round bumps are made up of balls that have been cut in half, and there are other shapes as well. Due to my colorblindness, I am not affected by the colors at this time. On the other hand, putting bumps on certain numbers and functions on the keypads on the kitchen appliances have allowed me to keep things moving even during the day. I use a large square on the stop button on the microwave and round bumps on some There were only bumps I needed to add to the cubes and the water buttons of the refrigerator. Both the start button and the set button on the oven have bumps. There is a large square on the stop/cancel button. Afterwards, I cut a rectangle diagonally, and used that as an up and down arrow to increase and decrease the temperature of the oven! It worked perfectly for me, and I highly recommend it to anyone with low vision! The bumps stuck to the keys without a problem, and they are still holding great.
Moreover, there is enough different bumpy stuff to stick the thing on your toaster again.
My mom has macular degeneration, so I ordered these for her. The fact that there are different sizes, shapes, and colors was appealing. These can be used in a number of ways throughout her house. She seems to find it easier to see bright orange more easily at this point, so I'd like to see more of that. As long as the light was sufficiently bright, the clear ones worked for her in places she didn't need to see but could use touch rather than seeing clearly. The black ones worked as long as there was enough light to see a good contrast between light and darkness. These are good examples of what is available to the public and what works for each individual. In the face of her deteriorating vision, we continue to look for ways to help her. Her life has been greatly improved by these tools.
Item that is great for people who are blind. They were bought for a blind friend of mine so that she could better track down "digital" I was very pleased with the result. For myself, I have even found a use for them. What do you do with the TV remote control when the lights are You will find a button quickly with the bump dot attached.
