Questions & Answers

What if I want to use it in the kitchen to grab items that are hard to ?

The answer is yes. It would be difficult to pick up a dinner plate with it, but you can use it to reach for a can of veggies or salt.

What are the 3 grabbers included with this?

Despite the fact that I purchased the item with ONE grabber, it came with only one. I strongly recommend it for those after hip surgery who don't want to bend.

What does 26" reacher mean, measured just by the shaft without handle, or does it mean the reacher as a whole is 26" long, including handle, etc. ?

The total length of the top is 26 inches, and I am 5'2", so it was just the right length to pick up things This has been my t-shirt for 1 year and my husband has used it as well - he is 5'9" - it has a good quality

What are the hooks for? Do they fit wheelchairs?

Although the bag has a hole for hanging from an "S" hook, it does not have a handle. Our sister's walker has an S hook on the side of it so that she can attach her walker to it and take it with her whenever she needs it.

A more traditional design is better than a more contemporary one
5/5

The two most common types of these "Reachers" are as follows. On the one hand, there's this style with one short moveable arm, and on the other, there's a newer model with While the newer and more modern two arm versions may look more pleasing, the original one arm style (such as this version) is actually more effective. It has been about ten years since I hurt my back. It was a cliff that I fell off of. For more than a decade, I owned one of the Reachers with a single arm. In the meanwhile, I broke the handle of this tool by pulling on it too hard (I'm quite large). My search for a new one began. It was during that decade that a new style emerged. Two of these had moving arms, and the handle seemed more ergonomic with two moving arms. However, I soon found out that the new design had many Unlike most one arm styles, this one has a short fixed peg on the back, which serves as a hook for you to hook over something and pull it towards Additionally, there is a flat rubber end cap that can be used to push a button. Whenever I get out of bed in the morning, I drag a box to my bed on the hook/post. The button pusher is also what enables me to turn off my CPAK machine on the floor every The two arm design of the newer model does not include either of these features. By hanging the Reacher on my bedside table using the hook trigger of the older design, I can use it to reach my bed. There is no way for the new model to It's actually easier to pick up a small object with the two arm design than with the three arm design. In view of this being the primary purpose of the device, you might suppose that its feature would be decisive for choosing the two arm design over the older one arm design, but the older one arm design can still do most things well enough.

Qualitatively good, but different from what you're used to
4/5

The quality of the medicine I received in the hospital motivated me to buy the same brand at home. There is a difference between this and how I expected it to be. Compared to mine from the hospital, the black portion is smooth as opposed to mine from the hospital that is ridged. The object from the jaw is a little longer than the one from hospital, and being 5'1" makes it awkward for me to grab it I thought the one from the hospital would be better since I have to bend my knees to pick something up off the floor as the shorter one is short. As a conclusion, they both have their good and bad points, but they both are good grabs for the money.

The grabbers I bought proved to be good, but not five stars
4/5

Read my comparison of two grabbers. In addition, I bought the Preston reacher by Sammons and the Unger professional grabber by Unger. The two of them got a good workout as my roof has been replaced and nails and tar paper are all over my yard. I need a little assistance reaching and gripping at 73 years old. As for the Salmons and the Ungers, I gave them a 4 and a 3 respectively. Generally, the Unger picked up items more effectively, was more durable, and had a better built. However, the hand squeeze mechanism was an awkward and uncomfortable design. was equipped with a small magnet for gathering metal, but it wasn't very effective. A little flimsy, but lightweight and easy to carry, the Sammons backpack was a good choice. This hand squeezing mechanism is much better than the Unger, and the magnets used for picking up nails were much stronger than the Unger's. The Sammons would win hands down for me, although I would keep both.

I found this to be quite useless
3/5

My husband helped me buy this for him, who recently had a hip replacement. Although the hospital gave him a grabber that he found super useful, I wanted to give him a backup just in case the other grabber was dropped or he would be able to keep it somewhere else. In spite of this, the hospital - In terms of using the grabber, the issue grabber (while the same size) is better than this one. When it comes to this one, you can't pick up anything heavier than a few ounces and you have much more difficulty grabbing small objects Although he now keeps this grabber on hand as a backup, he prefers his other grabber much more. When we look closer, we can see that the grabber does not fully touch the ground, which is why it is no help in getting him dressed or to grab small things. Not sure if this is just a dud or it is an issue with all grabbers made by this maker, but his original grabber was not like this.

Grabber and reacher in one
5/5

The handle makes grabbing all manner of household items that get lost behind furniture or just out of reach possible. My husband was disabled many years ago, so I have had this useful tool around for a long time. To be without is not an option. When a friend had surgery on her back and hip, I gave her a grabber and replaced my own so I could keep it close at hand. For anyone with mobility or flexibility issues, this product is a must.

The program worked extremely well, and I was able to pick up a tremendous amount of information
3/5

Neither the picture nor the product I received resembled the picture at all, and they were both useless. Having bought it before, I found that it was exactly as described in the picture, that it worked well, and that it was able to pick up a wide range of objects, large and small. In addition to those two, I ordered two more of them to use as gifts. One of those gifts was given, and the other is my own. It seems that the item I received this time does not resemble the pictures or the other items in store. The reacher looked completely different, was constructed out of a heavier metal, but the real difference which proved to be counterproductive was the "snail" extension. It was so rigidly tied that it opened up to probably one and a half inches only, so it was completely useless. I thought I ordered a product that would be capable of picking up just about anything, from a variety of shapes, sizes, Please do not buy this, and I will likely refrain from ordering anything from this company in the future since the item was misrepresented. The picture that accompanied the item looked exactly like the previous one, which had worked very well.

For my lawncare business, I use this to pick up limbs left by my customers
4/5

I use it to collect twigs and stuff my customers leave lying around. I use this to remove sticks and crap that customers leave around their yards.
It works well and is inexpensive This lightweight but sturdy product is made of steel. attached to the frame of my mower with clips, so all I need to do is grab it and use it Put things away without having to stop & pick them up Put the mower down and get off. I find it easier to perform my job this way. If you possess the strength to grip it, even medium sized rocks can be lifted.
