The chair is exactly as described and is extremely convenient for travel due to its light weight and ease of use. I conducted extensive research to determine that this chair is the most versatile and durable option available. It can carry the most weight, travels the best over terrain, has dual batteries that go a long way, and is light. I've only written a couple of reviews before, but this one exceeded my expectations, so I thought I'd share it. I'm very happy.

The chair is very appealing to me. It's simple to fold and load into my van, and it even fits inside when open. It's taking some time for me to figure out how to use it because I've never used a joystick before, but I'm getting there. So far, the battery life has been excellent! I haven't had to charge it since I got it and charged it the first time. You're supposed to discharge it completely before recharging it, but I'm only halfway there. Even though I meet the weight requirements, I'm a little too big for it, but my wife says I should lose weight anyway to solve that problem. It's great that it can be set to lower speeds for inexperienced users! We're looking forward to taking walks with our 94-year-old father. His wheelchair will last far longer than we will, thanks to its long range. We haven't been able to fully test its range due to the spring rains, but we are happy with it after three weeks. It arrived in excellent condition, took less than five minutes to assemble, and included clear instructions.

My wife has ALS and has limited mobility (difficulty walking, holding her head up), so this chair is ideal; I wanted something that was both rugged and lightweight because I'm working on getting my wife mobile both inside and outside of our home, as well as being able to throw it in our truck and drive to Ocean City to run on the boardwalk. The chair arrived fully assembled, with the exception of the battery cables (which were already connected) and the joystick, which I had to switch to a left-handed mount due to my wife's weak right hand. With a screw driver and a handful of zip ties I already had in my garage, I was able to complete the task in a matter of minutes. Because I had to cut the existing ties that held the cable tightly to the frame when I moved the joy stick to the left hand mount, I needed to use zip ties. It's a breeze. I had the chair up and running with the mount switched on and the batteries connected in less than 30 minutes of tinkering. The chair is appealing to the eye, durable, and light in weight. In terms of maneuverability, I've already put it through its paces around the house, and it can turn tight circles even within a doorway. br>I went to the Porto Mobility website to look for accessories and to purchase two additional batteries - My wife now requires the use of a neck brace to keep her head up, so I purchased a backpack that mounts on the back as well as a head rest. This wasn't because the battery life was bad; I'm just one of those guys who likes to go all out, so I wanted four batteries to get the most out of our trips to Ocean City and other places where my wife enjoys visiting. br>br>Right now, my number one priority in life is to give my wife as much freedom as possible to move around in the new house we built and to accompany me as I work on our landscaping. I'm having an elevator lift installed in our garage so that we can get a wheel chair lifted to the house level and lowered to the garage to get in and out of the house - this chair is perfect. This chair is exactly the right size for our elevator. br>br>A "hang up" phone call I made to Porto mobility with a question was another sign of quality and confirmation I made the right purchase. I received voice mail because I was awake early in the Eastern time zone, but I did not leave a voice mail. Al from Porto Mobility returned my call and was extremely pleasant and accommodating. I had a few questions about how to connect the extra batteries, which he easily answered. br>br>The purchase has exceeded my expectations. I had first looked at the Jazzy, but after reading reviews, I was dubious about its quality. After some more research, I came to the conclusion that Porto Mobility had reached a halt. I can see why after seeing this chair. br>br>I would strongly recommend this chair to anyone looking for a similar chair in this price range that is also portable.

The chair has proven to be very easy to load into my hatchback car; it folds up into a small package in seconds and weighs only 46 pounds, making it easy to maneuver into the vehicle. The chair is extremely comfortable, and the Joystick responds quickly. I especially appreciate the separate speed limit control, which can be set to slow in congested areas. Overall, it's a well-designed wheelchair that's strong, comfortable, and relatively powerful (500 Watts).

A month ago, my brother and I bought this chair for him. Over the course of ten years, he was involved in a car accident, resulting in a traumatic brain injury and the need for a wheelchair. The Ranger Discovery D09S in standard black was our choice. It's been difficult to get him to places like shopping malls, parks, restaurants, and other places while keeping his outings to a bare minimum, such as doctor's appointments and family outings. Regular wheelchairs were too heavy to handle, and light wheelchairs were not durable or comfortable enough to be used for extended periods of time. We had been looking for a chair that would allow him to get around independently and feel confident that he would be able to manage it with ease, such as a joystick that was simple to use and a small turning radius. We also wanted a chair that was truly portable, meaning it could be folded, carried, and stored in our car or SUV. So far, this chair has exceeded my expectations, and my brother enjoys having his own ride. If I had to criticize anything about the chair, it would be the seat height--it could be higher. We added an extra cushion for comfort and height to adjust to his legs so it rests better on the foot rest. It works perfectly. The footrest has an odd shape, and I wish it was wider and even so that his heels would fit better. We are very excited to go shopping again, and we are not concerned about leaving my brother at home due to the difficulty and time involved in transporting him. We'll update it as we use it more, but for now, we're pleased with our purchase and can't wait to plan long car trips or even a plane trip in the future.
