Questions & Answers

Could someone please tell me the unit's exact measurements?

Will the life or effectiveness of an extra one be harmed if it is kept inactive for a period of time (1 to 3 years)?

Because you must be careful about how and where you store them, it is better to just get a new one when needed. The best practice is to replace them with a new battery every three years.

Is this compatible with an apc 550g?

Hello, and thank you for your inquiry. br>The battery that would be appropriate for you is the 12V 9Ah, but this one has the same dimensions as the APC BE550G and will fit. If you have any further questions, please let us know.

Has anyone had trouble connecting the wire leads from the unit to the battery after purchasing this item?

My original UPS battery is no longer working. The replacement battery is 250 inches long and has. Terminals with a length of 125 inches I simply removed the old terminals and replaced them with the. The 125-inch size is a little inconvenient, but it is simple to work with. Of course, I could have paid three times as much, if not more, for the exact same replacement from APC.

Not even close to the original
3/5

The contact points are too small. The connection tabs are too small to securely connect to the UPS terminals. They're close to fitting, but not quite. A current-carrying connection cannot be established in this manner. The old battery is on the left, and the new battery is on the right.

Not at all what the title implies
3/5

It isn't suitable for a Back-to-School outfit. ES 550 UPS UPS UPS UPS UPS UPS UPS UPS UPS UPS UPS UPS UPS UPS UPS UPS UPS UPS UPS Even though it's right there in the item's title, it's not the same as the one that arrived from UPS. A few weeks ago, we had a power outage, and I noticed that the computer connected to my backup power supply was not working. The UPS 550 signaled that it was time to leave. That's something you're not supposed to do. Especially since all I ask of my UPS is for it to carry a load for about 10 seconds until my Generac Whole House Generator comes online. br>br>Being a good citizen, I chose to replace the battery rather than the entire unit. I ordered this product because it stated exactly what I needed, but when it arrived, the connections were different from the OEM APC battery I removed from the unit. They're half the width of the originals. br>br>I believe I will have to return it and replace the entire thing.

Battery acid spilled all over the place
3/5

Leaked a clear oily fluid all over the hardwood floor, leaving a large dark brown stain. After two months of use, the results were as follows. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> BATTERY ACID, which also ate a hole in a sweatshirt I was wearing when I picked it up, was the clear oily fluid. Battery acid was all over the inside of the APC UPS case when I opened it. br>br>Because of the cheap construction, the acid escaped. Next time, I'll look for a different brand. br>br>Seller was great and gave me a refund for the defective battery as well as money to repair my hardwood floor, which I appreciated.

The contacts on this battery are smaller than on the original
4/5

For an APC ES 550, I purchased this. I bought a replacement battery from this same Amazon link a few years ago and received one that fit perfectly and lasted three years. So when that battery died, I immediately returned to this website and placed an order for a new one. The battery I received did not appear to be identical to the one I had previously received; the labeling and other components were slightly different. There's no need to be concerned. The issue was that the connectors on the original APC battery and the first replacement battery I'd received were significantly smaller. I got in touch with the seller. br>br> The next day, they responded, stating that the battery I had received was defective. 187" F1 connectors were required, and one with was required. F2 connectors with a diameter of 250 inches. They offered to send me a free adapter. I had, however, previously ordered a new battery from a different Amazon page and received the correct battery. As a result, the seller promptly and painlessly refunded my money. So, despite the fact that the battery didn't fit properly, my experience with the seller was fantastic. As a result, I gave it four out of five stars. br>However, keep in mind that the battery you order from Ace Comp Solutions may come with connectors that are too small.

This battery's title is inaccurate and deceptive

It's the wrong size of terminal! This battery has an F1-cell configuration. size (. 187"- terminals (which are wide) The APS Back-to-School Program (APS Back-to-School Program) encourages students to participate in extracurricular activities F2 (in the UPS 550VA) 250"- On its mating cables, it has wide) terminals. br>** This battery's title is incorrect and deceptive.

It's not as simple as it appears
3/5

According to YouTube videos, the replacement procedure should be simple. I spent more than an hour on it. First, I discovered that the UPS cord was hidden behind a file cabinet that I couldn't get to. I checked to see if hot swaps were allowed (they are), so I went ahead and did it without unplugging the UPS. The old spade connectors had been screwed on firmly. After 15 minutes, I gave up and went through my husband's tools in search of a pair of pliers, as well as a silicone pot holder to wrap it in. I was able to remove the previous battery. Yay! Remove the old battery and replace it with the new one. The connections were a little sloppy, but they were still in place. I replaced the UPS's cover and re-aligned it. After being turned on, I started squealing. I tried this three times, and each time a connector came loose during the reassembling of the UPS. Clamped the connectors together to make them more secure. After a second attempt, I was able to get it to stay in place. Finally, a new battery is being developed. Now, hopefully, no one will try to move the UPS in any way, and my home office will be safe.

The APC ES 550 from 2009 was a perfect fit
5/5

I've seen some comments about terminal sizes and wanted to weigh in with my own experiences. br>br>I recently purchased an APC Back UPS ES 550. It had a sticker on it with the date it was put into service, which was January 2009. The battery had finally given up the ghost. Because I had a good experience with replacing a UPS battery via Amazon previously I didnt pay much attention, I just did a quick search and clicked buy on a recommended product% br>It's been installed in my office for a few days and appears to be working fine; time will tell if there are any issues; if that's the case, I'll post an update.

The battery in the APC UPS had to be calibrated, but the results are now satisfactory
5/5

The battery is simple to install. Turn off the APC backup system, unplug it from the wall outlet, slide the bottom panel open, remove and unplug the old battery, then connect and install the new battery. When I turned on the UPS and checked powerchute, it showed that it was fully charged with only a few minutes of battery run time, so I did some research and discovered that I needed to calibrate the battery. This necessitates the battery being completely discharged. As a result, I unplugged the UPS from the wall plug and disconnected the USB powerchute cable. To discharge the battery, I turned off and unplugged my computer and plugged in a few lamps. It took a long time for this to happen (which is a good sign). Due to the battery being completely discharged, the UPS eventually beeped and shut off. After that, I turned on the UPS by unplugging the lamps and plugging it into a wall outlet. After a while, I reconnected the USB cable, then turned on my computer and restarted it. The UPS battery had to be recharged for several hours. Powerchute now shows that there is plenty of time left to run the battery load. The issue has been resolved.
