Yes, I bought these to replace the ones that were worn out.

What is the base's (not the opening's) diameter?

The base's diameter is: 1 3/4 inches short of 1 3/4 inch (per ruler) 741 inches (as measured by a vernier caliper) 4mm (per ruler)br>Measurements were taken at the tip of the ruler with no wear. It goes perfectly with my Cold Steel "African walking stick"br>GC

I have a 3/4" shaft cane that I use. Are these going to be effective?

I use a 3/4" cane, as well. These suggestions have proven to be extremely effective in my experience. Electrical tape (or adhesive tape) is wrapped around the base of my cane. Masking tape, on the other hand, is a different story. Two laps around the cane should be enough to ensure that the tips are applied securely.

Is it possible to use these tips on older wooden crutches?

With minimal use, it does not last a month

On the 15th of October, 2018, I made a purchase. It wasn't until the middle of the year that they were put to use. November. One of the tips has already cracked and is mostly peeling away from the rest of the rubber as of December 4th. This is a potentially fatal situation. I found these to be a waste of money because I only use them at home and not outside, and I'm not on crutches all of the time. I've never had a pair of crutches last less than 30 days in my 28 years of using them. Never. I'm sorry I bought these.

They're nice, they fit, they're rubber, they work fine, and they're actually nice for the price; I'd buy them again if I lived long enough to use both, but they're definitely worth the money

A few years ago, I purchased a handcrafted wooden cane. I loaned it to a friend, who wore the tip off. This was excellent and should last for a long time. It appeared to have a wider base, which increased its stability.

Top Glides LLC sold me mine. For two reasons, it was returned: 1) This has an awful, awful plastic odor. 2) The floor is covered in black streaks.

Crutch tips that come with your crutches are not as good as these

Because of normal wear and tear, I needed to replace my rubber tips, so I purchased these. They've far outlasted my expectations. They're tough and give you plenty of traction!.
