Questions & Answers

Is your cane able to support you in the sand at the beach?

The wider base has more area to make contact with the sand and distributes your weight more evenly than a single point cane, which can easily be pushed deep into the sand. I'm 6 feet tall and 210 pounds, and I fare much better on the sandy beaches of Northern New England. Have fun at the beach, and always be cautious.

Is it suitable for a cane of a certain size?

It is designed to fit cane tips that are 3/4" to 7/8" in diameter (standard US canes). I was able to fit it onto a wooden cane with a slightly larger tip as well. I had to use Vaseline to get it on, though. On my metal came, I have one with a 3/4" tip that fits perfectly.

What's the base width?

The dimensions are 2 x 2. 65". The width is four inches. 75". Thanks

Stability is improved
5/5

The tread design is excellent. I was trying to make the transition from crutches to canes, but the standard crutch tip seemed unstable. I have arthritis, which makes things even more difficult. The tip fits standard canes; mine was a 7/8" tip, and it was easy to install and secure. The four-prong tip provided additional stability, and the cane can now stand on its own. The tip's width (footprint) is approximately 4-inches. Because the outside edges are 5/8" thick, the added stability is achieved without adding much weight. I've also included a photo of the tread. Although I have not tested it on a wet sidewalk or dirt path, it appears to provide adequate traction. There have been no scuffs on the hardwood floors so far. Nice product. br>br>Writing reviews and adding photos takes time- If you found this information to be useful, please share it with others. Please select "helpful" from the drop-down menu. Cane Tip of the Day For the user, it adds stability
5/5

This is a fantastic idea. TIP OF THE CANOE IS STRONG! My mother, who is in her eighties and recovering from an illness, has recently begun to use a cane. As she regains her balance following her illness, we noticed that "normal" rubber tips were unstable. As a result, I looked into a variety of canes and tips (foot). I actually bought her three different canes. LOL! None of the tips, however, appeared to be sufficiently stable. I tested a few "quad canes" (which have four metal legs and cross-shaped tips) that claim to provide more stability. However, after reading a medical review, I learned that many patients trip over the metal legs. Then, on Amazon, I came across this rubber tip. It's a WORK OF ART! It provides stability but does not extend very far, so my mother is far less likely to trip over it. I will say that the solid rubber adds weight to the cane. However, unlike similar products on the market, there are no plastic pieces that fall off because it is one solid piece of rubber. br>br>After conducting extensive research, we decided to include the Carex Self-Standing Cane Tip in the EZ-Standing Cane Tip. Get- From- The Royal Canes Seat Adjustable Cane, UPC 811319013878, is a light cane with two handles, one for walking and the other to assist my mother in getting from a seated to standing position. What a fantastic pairing! I've included a photo of the cane as well as the tip.

I've only had it for a couple of days, so I can't comment on its durability, but I like it
5/5

It allows the cane to stand on its own rather than having to be leaned against something all the time; it can still be knocked over, but it's less likely, and the wider foot makes it a little easier to hook a finger, or perhaps a toe, under it for retrieval. I was concerned that the cane would become too bottom-heavy as a result. heavy, but it hasn't been a problem so far. Because the rubber material flexes or "gives" slightly when you land, it absorbs some of the impact rather than transmitting it to your arm or shoulder, it actually makes walking a little easier. It's worth noting that the foot's orientation in relation to the cane's handle has an impact on how it lands and thus how stable it feels in use. It took some time to set up, but I was able to do it. Running hot water over the old solo tip helped to loosen it up enough for me to work with it. Both removing the old and installing the new feet were made easier with a little liquid dish soap. If you don't mind the color or style of this quad foot, the price appears to be reasonable, and it could be a good fit for you.

A disaster on the verge of occurring- Be careful who you buy from
3/5

I'm not sure where to begin; if I had the option, I'd give this a zero. I didn't return in time, so I'm in the trash. Although the packaging claims that it fits 7/8 inch canes, it does not. I have a 3/4-inch cane that I tried on, but it wouldn't stand up straight. It begins to sway and eventually topples. There is a major design flaw here. When you walk, it is wobbly because the cup is above the base and not well supported. It's heavy and clumsy, so I believe it's a tripping hazard. This is the worst product I've ever bought.

Excellent stability, light weight, and simple installation on the cane's end
5/5

This was a breeze to attach to the tip of my cane. The four tips provide significantly more stability than a single rubber tip. I'm more comfortable with it now, and my came is still light. I used to have a cane with a wide base, but it was far too heavy for me to use. However, thanks to this product, I was able to use my favorite cane while maintaining stability without having to carry the extra weight.

(Quad Tip) Upright Stability This product may appear to be off-putting at first glance - I was! But it's a far cry from those dreadful quad canes
5/5

If you want a little more stability from your regular cane without having to invest in one of those awkward quad canes, this is the one to get. I can't speak for anyone else, but those were never of any assistance to me!br>br>And, if you're tired of bending down to retrieve your always-on-the-go phone, You'll be overjoyed that you purchased this when it starts to fall apart. If the cane falls down, it's a simple matter of leveraging the cane back to a standing position with your toes (much like those amusing guys who step on a rake and get hit in the head)! Caution: br>br> Don't be discouraged if, like me, you find the package to be a little heavy when you first receive it. Any additional weight is barely noticeable once it replaces the standard cane tip. br>br>Seriously, if you use a cane, you should have this product.

A cane with this tip will usually only stand up on flat surfaces, and some carpets may be problematic
5/5

But that's exactly what I was hoping for. I use a four-legged cane, but I've noticed that I occasionally catch my foot on one of the legs and almost trip. I needed a tip that had a smaller footprint so I wouldn't trip and fall, potentially injuring myself. br>This tip works well, appears to be sturdy, and wears well, so I am very pleased with it. I have yet to catch my foot on it. It's a choice between a smaller tip, which is less stable on uneven or sloped surfaces, and a larger tip, which was a tripping hazard for me.
