In the pack, 6 were found - In addition to the red and green, one light blue and one dark blue was also present. There are probably a lot of colors in there.
My opinion is that it is not true. I'd say they keep pretty tight tabs on each other. A regular type of pencil is designed to hold them steady.

They are for my granddaughter, who I bought them for while she learns how to hold a pencil correctly. The bright colors look great on a pencil and they work perfectly for finger placement. My granddaughter's 4 year old fingers were almost too big for them, however as her hands grow they will be just right. She seems to like them a lot.
You won't be disappointed. I would suggest this for anyone who needs to learn how to hold a pen or pencil correctly, whether it is a child or a disabled person. My son initially struggled but now uses the right method when he holds.
