I use the dressing end to assist me in removing my socks. Because I'm in a wheelchair, I grab hangers from the closet using the dressing end. The dressing end can also be used as a shoehorn to help you put on your shoes. It's what I use to get the Velcro straps on my braces and shoes to come undone. Of all the dressing tools I have, this is probably the one I use the least.

This device is fantastic for people who can't bend very much for whatever reason. Actually, I only use the hook, despite the fact that the occupational therapist I saw after hip surgery tried to teach me how to use the contraption on the other end. The hook, on the other hand, is all I need for dressing in my case. It's one of those essential items that allows me to be independent despite my inability to bend and limited mobility.
However, if you have limited mobility, it can mean the difference between going out in your underwear or being arrested for indecency. br>br>In a pinch, it can also be used as a back strather.
The quality of these sticks is excellent, and the brand is very reliable. I'm in a wheelchair, so it's useful for pushing things out of the way or moving things on the counter closer, and it's a good back scratcher. Simply search for "Dressing stick" on YouTube for instructions. The issue is that it was described as "Deluxe" and lacquered, which is why I was willing to pay a little more for it. It says "economy" on the tag and isn't lacquered, which makes it difficult to clean. I'm not sure how Amazon plans to deal with this issue. My last one was stolen at the hospital, so I need one RIGHT NOW, and it would be too expensive to ride paratransit around the city looking for the real Deluxe version, so I'll keep it.
This is a simple device that helps people get dressed, and chances are you already know how to use one if you need one. Positives include: Lightweight, maneuverable, and with a smooth finish on wood and metal parts that prevents snagging and pulling. Also useful for locating cat toys hidden beneath furniture.
In reality, the hook should be facing the opposite direction.
This item is extremely helpful when it comes to dressing and undressing. I wish I'd purchased it earlier. It's very sturdy, and all of the hooks have a smooth, pvc-like coating so you won't get scratched while using it.
The dressing stick, on the other hand, will not fit through any of the zippers. Its end resembles a garage hook, screwed in place to support a heavy load.
It began to bend after a few uses, and I can see that if I continue to use it, it will eventually break. Although it does not specifically state that it is for compression socks, other similar sticks have been advertised in this manner. I believe this would be useful for removing regular socks as well as putting on and taking off other clothing items.
