Questions & Answers

A person reported that it would fit a queen size bed, yet another noted that additional stapping is necessary. Would you mind telling me what that is?

I think my husband used no extra strapping to attach the head board to the king-sized bed, since it is on a king-size Here is what I hope will help! When I use it a lot, how often and which way I use it, there are occasions when we have to push it back in because as it moves out, we have to push it back in. Even though I'm only 5'1", this isn't a big deal to me and I've never had an issue with getting it back in place.

Approximately what is the height of this bedside assist once it is ?

The height of the mattress will determine the height you need. The top of the mattress is about 15 inches higher than the base. We have literally found this to be life-saving for my husband as he can hold on to it to pull himself up and to gain his bearings before standing. Medline Assist Bar prevented him from sliding out of bed, which prevelantly happened prior to the bar and made it very difficult to get himself back into bed. That's now something he can do on his own. This helps me to assist him without straining my arms. The best thing I've ever done!

When does the 6800BA become the 6800BA and when does the 6800BA become the 6800BAH?

Hi, the 6800BA is for 3 units and the 6800BAH is only for 1. I'm sorry to speak for you. Thanks a lot

I'm trying to attach the pocket, but how do I do it?

Do any of you have an answer to this? This pocket does not have a way of snapping in place, and it evades all logic as to how it is supposed to function. There is no detail provided on using the pocket attachment in the otherwise excellent guide.

It can pose a threat - There are dangers! It is very difficult for me to take care of my 96-year-old The year is As a result of several compression fractures and broken ribs, the old woman needed additional assistance getting in and out of bed
3/5

The straps fit the box spring very tightly. I am a compulsive direction follower, I had to install this myself and adjust the straps to ensure that they fully covered the box spring as needed. No gap was visible between the vertical supports and the bed frame, which shows that the rail was very secure. Video from manufacturer shows that the bolts are even tighter than they appear. few months after the installation, it appears that parts of her body slipped down between the mattress and the bar, and the nurse who eventually helped said that her neck was trapped. Having to extricate her, paramedics found 4 more fractures in her ribs, a broken sternum, and she has a hematoma from knee to shoulder in her left arm. Her body has shut down after being in the hospital for several days. She is now on hospice and her condition is rapidly deteriorating. At her assisted living facility, the staff said the grab bars pose a safety threat, and that there are similar designs with an additional piece to prevent injuries like this. The last time we spoke to her, she was still walking around her assisted living apartment with a walker, and we are wondering today how many hours or days A recent update It took six days for her to pass away, and she never recovered.

This is a solid product
4/5

Having properly installed it, it will be sturdy and strong. This easy-to-install program will get you up and running In the days following her discharge from the rehab center, my mother needed assistance getting into and out Due to her insurance, she could not receive a hospital bed, so she had to find other means of assistance. found this product when I was searching, and after evaluating many other products, I decided to buy this one due to the reviews, price, and shipping time. The price was fair and I received the item the next day, and the bed assist bar was simple With little effort, I completed all the tasks in under There was a nice height to it and the floor held nice and firmly. As soon as her mother tried it out, she was blown away. Although it took her a little practice to learn how to use it, she is now able to get up quite easily from It's nice to have a pocket on the sleeve. Among the things she keeps in this bag are remote controls to her television, medications, tissues, and whatever else she needs. There are only a few downsides to it, including the fact that it stretches far too much, so you think your items are going to fall out. A strong, sturdy, and solid metal frame, while the straps underneath the mattress are really long. The straps do a good job of holding the bar on to the mattress. Both sides of the bed can be used with it. Anyone who buys this product is advised to tighten up the straps a lot so that it will provide a strong and solid bar support that is barely likely to move or strain. The price is good and it is a well built item. The only reason why I recommend this product is because of my personal.

A very effective product with the exception of two issues
4/5

This was just what we needed for an elderly relative who had difficulty getting up in the morning due to hip and spine issues. Considering she is under 100 lbs, I would think the bar is robust enough to hold her, but I am not sure whether I would trust it to hold up to the weights it claims, as the bar does have some flex Therefore, the strength of the materials is a concern that needs to be addressed. Two other points I'd like to mention are the minimum height and the minimum weight. a bed that I would consider normal height. However, this device is too tall to fit into his bed. The bottom of your mattress must be at least 16" from the floor (hers is about 14" from the floor) otherwise this device will be too tall and lift the mattress slightly. Despite the issues, we decided to keep the product. If a problem arises, we may make some adjustments. We found this device to be easy to assemble and install (including the straps, which we decided If not for the two issues I mentioned, I would have given this a 5 star rating.

rail to help you get up in the morning! There is an issue with the strap clip on the pouch that breaks even too easily! I bought this item for the second time
3/5

Several years ago, my wife had a knee replacement and because of her I needed one as well after my spinal surgery. As far as assisting with getting into and out of bed, both are excellent, but the pouch is of poor The second pouch I received for my side of the bed tore at the clip when I tried to snap it to the rail last week. Could you please let me know how I can get another pouch without returning it all? Added 1/4/19 I forgot to mention that this comes with a clip to attach it to your box springs and it has a strap to secure it around the springs. I would like to CAUTION you that you should not make it too tight or it may As both of ours are broken now, I simply slide the metal brace between the mattress and box spring so that it sits snugly. It will need to be pushed back against the bed daily, but it will work. Because the company has not responded to your request, it's unlikely you will get a replacement pouch. Even so, it's a good buy for the price.

When we received it, it was too large for my wife but you can cut it to any size you need
3/5

We received a large tubing when we ordered it and my wife was not pleased with the size. However, I explained that it would be fine. In fact, she was right about the unit bending, and I believe that after bending back it will break and cut into the springs and possibly No matter how you slice it, that's not good. Due to the return window ending in November, returns could not be accepted. The weight should have been no concern for me since I am only 175 pounds. There is no point in buying this item. It is a real waste of money. had the option, I would give it a 5 star rating. The broken one I would post if I were allowed to do so. I just received my Vive bed assist bar and what a difference it has made. Compared to flat 1/4 inch material, this bar appears to be made of 1 inch tubing. There is no strap other than two that hold the Vive in place under the mattress. Vive appears to go under the mattress about 42 inches. It is a real bargain for $15 more.

I am disappointed
3/5

In addition, according to instructions included with the product, the nylon storage pocket cannot be attached as shown. There is clearly something wrong with this product. It does not match the picture at all. Despite my disappointment, I still maintain that I am human. In addition, the bed is supposed to have a "strap" around it. You probably already know that beds do not all I cannot pull this over the bed of my grandmother. The fact that a product intended for the elderly is sold with such garbage is a disgrace.
