For my back, this applicator was necessary to place lotion on it. There was a glob of lotion on the floor. It slung with me, and the lotion with me. I stuck it straight to my wall after taking it off the pad! The tight muscles in my shoulders make it impossible for me to reach very far into my back. There is never a time when I put normal lotion on my back, since I always have to have someone else apply sunscreen (or use aerosol and hope for the best). bought the body buddy specifically for sunscreen, but my back has been itch all day, so I slathered on a few pumps of lotion directly onto the strap and wore it. There is no drippage of any kind. It's a shame the handles are so stretchy, as much as most others do. The strap had to be held directly at one end in order for me to maneuver it more effectively. The rest is great! I want to make sure I take proper care of my back from now on!.
