In most cases, it takes one year from the date of purchase. On the box in which the replacement arrived, the actual date was printed. My most recent one, which I installed in 11- 2013 is the year to replace, and my notes say to do so by ten years. 2014
My son received it as a present. Before I had to replace the sensor, I believe he had it for about 2 years. It was a simple task. a low-cost fix

I purchased the AlcoMate AL7000 because it was the only one that allowed you to replace the sensor on your own. This was a simple way for me to replace my old sensor. Open the access door, remove the old one with your hands (no tools required), and replace it with the new one. The calibration warning has been removed from the device, and it now works perfectly. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> I received a CAL warning after only about three months. The one that came with my AlcoMate lasted about a year, so I ordered another, hoping the first was just defective.
However, my first one is still good. I'm starting to think I've been duped. The BAC mobile detector is a good product that does its job well. Do not purchase a second sensor at the same time as the first. I have the impression that I have been duped. The second sensor I purchased as a backup does not work.
I like that I don't have to send it anywhere else to be calibrated and can simply order a new piece.
Best investment I made. . . it finally gave me false readings (I do my own tests from time to time), but swapping the sensor is super easy, and this breathalyzer has probably saved me and friends from god knows what.
However, when it reads. You're set to go with a score of 000.
After 20 breathalyzer tests, both sensors stopped working. This is the first time this has happened to us; it could be the seller's batch.
The products are flawless.
Sensors don't appear to last very long in general. We have several meters, and they never last more than a month or two before becoming significantly off.
