Questions & Answers

Is there a way to open both ends of this casket?

Yes, it's a half-couch model, similar to what you'd find in a funeral home. The top half and/or the bottom half can both be opened. In the past, viewing was limited to the top half of the container. This casket is extremely durable, and I would strongly recommend it. When I run out of this one, I'll buy another one from the same manufacturer.

What message does the inside design convey?

It has the Lord's Prayer written on it.

100% satisfied The reality is that I am not a paid reviewer, but rather a regular person
5/5

Here's how I feel about the casket I purchased from this company. I am a Funeral Director and Embalmer, as well as a Registered Nurse. Because I have a lot of inside information on the horror stories of things and events that have happened during funerals while some cheap and poorly made caskets were purchased to save a buck or two, my opinions of caskets from unknown sources or companies have been very skeptical and low. I've been researching caskets online for several years, intending to buy one to keep in my garage for whoever in the family passes away first; it's been one of those things on my "back burner" that I've meant to do but never got around to. Who wants to contemplate the death of a family member or themselves, after all? Well, I can tell you from personal experience that it is a fact, and someone in the family will eventually die. Do you know that a casket can cost anywhere from $3000 to $20,000 at the funeral home? It was my job to sell them to people, so this is accurate. I never tried to persuade them to choose one over the other. I did not receive any compensation. When a loved one has died, however, walking into a room full of caskets and having to choose one for them can be extremely overwhelming, especially since the decision must be made quickly. There simply isn't enough time to consider it. There are numerous metal gauges, wood types, colors, and themes to choose from, and it is easy to become overwhelmed. When your mother passes away, you don't have to spend $6000 on a casket to show your love. The funds would be better used to pay household bills and expenses. There are a slew of other costs to consider when planning a funeral. But I'm getting ahead of myself. br>br>Since July of 2018, my dear sweet Momma, whom I adored (and who was also my best friend), had been in hospice. She had been in her early eighties for quite some time. At home, I looked after her. The term "hospice" denotes impending death. My mother was able to get up and walk around with the assistance of a walker, and my sister and I took care of her when she was unable to care for herself. Long story, full of love and respect; however, time was running out, and I knew I needed to get a casket as soon as possible, or I would soon be paying $4000 to $6000. My mother was unable to purchase life insurance because she was unable to afford it. So I search on Amazon because I trust them and know that if there are any issues, they have excellent customer service. I looked for caskets and was able to narrow it down to three. One in ebony and silver, another in a lovely dark blue, and this one, the White Christian-themed one. I was planning to buy the blue one with the rounded corners because I liked it so much. After all, it would be HER casket, not anyone else's, so I decided to ask my mother. Her eyesight had deteriorated, but even though she couldn't see the photos, I was able to explain to her that it should be what SHE likes, not what I like. She chose the white casket with crosses on the corner panels, praying hands on the hardware, and the Lord's Prayer on the inside of the head panel (which can be seen when the casket is opened). I decided that it should be something she enjoys rather than something I enjoy. I did as much research as I could on the subject. I had my doubts. I knew things about these "unknown caskets" that others didn't. I liked that it was made of 18 gauge steel and had a rubber seal to keep the casket sealed when it was closed. The color of the hardware appealed to me, as did the fact that the handrails were hinged and could be raised and lowered. The price was extremely reasonable, so I used my Amazon Chase Visa to purchase the casket, even though we would get 5% back from the purchase. Savings are even better. As a result, I placed an order for it. br>br>Within a few days, I received a call from the company, asking me to confirm the purchase. That meant a lot to me, because it's such a significant purchase. He was courteous and informed me that it would be shipped within a few days, and he inquired as to whether I needed it delivered to a funeral home or somewhere else. I told him it would be delivered to my house because we didn't need it right away, but it would be soon. This company's business practices impressed me. I got a call from the shipping company that was going to deliver it to my house a few days later. (I wish I remembered who they were. ) The very nice lady asked what day would be best for delivery and informed me that it would be delivered and that I (or another adult) would need to be present to receive it. She also expressed her condolences over the impending death of a family member during the phone call, which was above and beyond what she was required to do because they were a shipping company that shipped all kinds of goods, not just caskets, which would have been an outlier for them. She greeted me warmly and inquired about the best delivery day for me. I decided on the following Thursday in January. The driver called to say he was on his way on the day it arrived. When it arrived, I was completely taken aback. It was well-protected by being well-packaged and packed. On a wooden pallet with plywood, cardboard, Styrofoam, and plastic wrap encasing it. The driver who delivered the package was outstanding. Their policy was to deliver it to the home, but he even offered to assist me in loading it into the garage or into the house. My Mom, sister, and I laughed at "what will the neighbors say" that we had a casket in our driveway because they were watching. We got it into the garage right away, but first. . . br>br>On Thursday, I excitedly went into my house and informed my mother that our casket had arrived, inviting her to come out and see it. I accompanied her outside and assisted her in unpacking it in the driveway, but we did not open the lid. It was in perfect working order. There are no scratches, dents, or any other flaws. 100% perfection. Mom was overjoyed, as were my sister and I were as well. My mother's health began to deteriorate the following Saturday evening. It was the 19th of January. She suffered from respiratory failure and was rendered unconscious at our home. The hospice nurse was incredibly caring and supportive, and she was always there for us. My dear mother died on Sunday evening, just 24 hours later. What a blessing it was that we were able to purchase the casket at the right time. The casket was picked up and taken to the funeral home the next day. Any funeral home in Texas that refuses to accept an outside casket that was not purchased at their facility is breaking the law. They were courteous and accommodating in their handling of the situation. My mother was laid to rest in a lovely and perfect casket. It was better than any casket they had at the funeral home, and better than any casket I've ever seen in my 10 years as a funeral director. Most importantly, Mom was able to choose it herself. It was exactly what she'd been looking for. I am grateful to God for the casket and the purchase. I literally saved THOUSANDS of dollars, and I didn't have to settle for anything less than what my mother earned and deserved for the love she showed me throughout her life. I HIGHLY recommend this casket, as well as any other casket from this seller.

The casket is lovely
5/5

My brother died unexpectedly, leaving us with only four days to plan his funeral. I was hesitant to order a casket online, but the cost of a funeral was so high that we were looking for ways to cut costs. I read the reviews and everything seemed positive, so I paid for expedited delivery and received a call from the casket company about two hours after placing my order, confirming funeral home delivery. They wanted to make certain that the delivery went off without a hitch. br>br> I placed my order on Wednesday morning, and the casket arrived on Friday afternoon (the viewing was scheduled for Saturday). I couldn't be more pleased with the quality and delivery of the casket, which was better than I had anticipated. It was a lovely place for my brother to be laid to rest.

Quality while saving money
5/5

This casket was ordered in the morning and arrived the next day, undamaged, at the funeral home. I was able to save a significant amount of money by ordering from Amazon. The casket was made for my mother, who is a huge fan of crosses. The design is of excellent quality.
